The Cassam Tactical Hawk!

That hawk is pretty amazing...and for 3 tanks of gas...not bad.

John, you don't seem to miss a beat with bringing peoples designs to reality. Impressive.
 
Holy hell! I just got it JK! Thing is a serious tank! That back spike is very pointy aNd acute as well, wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that thing! Took it right out to the garage and started beating on some paneling, 2x4s, etc and it was a champ! The curve of he hawk makes for some serious impact when you swing it. Also, as an unexpected surprise, it chops wood very well. I only say that because I did not consider this when designing the head geometry. The upper handle contour is very comfy, and the lower subtle finger grooves are perfect. Overall I'd say it is a masterpiece. John you've really been a gentleman throughout this entire process, this was a great first foray into the world of customs! Also, the leather sheath is perfect! It's got that worn, aged look to it and it is really fine work! If I ever figure out how to post pics here, I will litter this forum with pictures of my new hawk!
 
Omg! I am in LOVE! I think I need to change my order......damn I'm probably too late. You make them with wood handles or only micarta?
 
Well, I've had a few weeks with my baby, and let me tell you that this thing is unreal! Not only does it look incredible, but it's real world function (aside from hacking people up) is outstanding! I've run it through its paces and chopped wood, hammered concrete (with the spike), shattered glass, and run it through some sheat metal. It keeps asking for more! Coming in at 33oz it absolutely pulverizes anything it touches! Because of the weight I wouldn't recommend this as a tool to carry with you if you're trying to keep weight down, but if physical defense and absolute destructive power are something that interest you this is most definitely the ticket (disclaimer: I AM NOT a tomahawk fighting guru, I just have seen first hand what this thing can do to meat - chopped a 7lb chicken in two with a half hearted swing). If any of you are looking for something along the lines of what I described, I would most certainly take a look at this hawk.

*Added- if breaching and destruction is your main priority, I would ask John to leave the back spike a little thicker when he grinds it. I see no deformation in mine, but if you're out there everyday hammering concrete I'd imagine you'd want the point a little stouter! Now for the pic spamming (sorry, no "in-use" pics at the moment - my fiancee looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her to take pics of me using this beast!)!

God I just drooled all over my droid. I can't wait! 21st of the months mine will be started. Man I hate waiting! But it's gonna be soooooooooooo worth it. Thanks for the in hand pics. I was wondering that myself.
 
WOW! Looks even better. All I kept thinking was I bet you could hack it through the table in the picture! I know it doesn't make any sense, but when you see it, there's just something that makes you want to see it smashed halfway through something! Great design and great execution. I bet John will get orders for these for years to come!

I checked out the pattern at the gathering yesterday - this is really a well thought out tool .

I love the way you have a smaller handle built into the upper part of the neck, that really gives you a place to choke up on the head so you can do detail cutting with the edge.

The little kick at the end of the handle really puts your hand in place.

I will likely be ordering one of these for my own. Love it.
