Afternoon fellas!

On lunch, killing some ravioli and meatballs the wife made. Man, little dude has his first day of kindergarten tomorrow! I can't believe how fast it's gone by.

Went fishing yesterday with my dad, he's been off work for 5 weeks now from knee replacement and is mobile enough that he's starting to go nuts sitting at home, lol! I took him to my local bluegill spots, packed him in a folding chair and he had a blast.

Anyways, hope y'all are making it an exceptional day!

Just got home from walking the boy to school for his first day of kindergarten! He was so excited! I can't wait to hear what he has to say when he got home.

First day already? Mine starts in Sept... I bet your boy will be TIRED. :D. I can't wait!
 
Yeah, some schools here have been in session for a week now already! The wife goes back to work tomorrow, it'll be nice once the college is back in session, no more "kids" hanging out at the bars and restaurants or coffee shop all day long. I hope he's completely worn out! It's about two hours longer than his preschool day was, and no nap time! WooHoo! He might actually go to bed at his bedtime! So stoked about it, lol! Good thing is we live just 3 blocks from his school, so we walk him and don't have to deal with all the idiot drivers.

Well little dude loves going to a "big kid school!" He was up and ready two full hours before we even had to leave today, lol! I was hoping he would be worn out from it, but he went the other way and was totally amped up all day after!

I used to hate the first day back to school wish time can stop.....time didn't stop and I had to graduate!... Lol!!
 
^ Same here Ben, I remember being very happy to graduate and get the heck out! :D College was a lot of fun though...

I've been busy here and will have a couple more fixed blades ready today... I had some wacky issue with the Kydex getting contaminated with grit on this latest group but I already figured out why and made new sheaths... am doing a bit more sanding on the blades and they will be looking even better than before! :) Kydex scratching is not acceptable! In the meanwhile each day the Blackwood gets another coat of Danish oil... :cool:

My plan for this week is folders and I'm back on to them tomorrow! I literally had these fixed blades done last Friday and am just now getting fully caught up.

I took two days off this last weekend and with some of the time built a good part of a Cigar Box Guitar... last night I got my tuners in and installed so I started the final finishing this morning... I did the dye earlier today and tomorrow will apply Danish Oil! I'll get pics when it is complete, it is coming along nicely! :D

Daniel! I had a contaminated Kydex sheath that scratched my Busse. It was bad!! I'm glad you got that fixed. What was the culprit?

I hear you! Once they have grit embedded it become a big issue. I am 95% positive that a new process I tried caused the problem, I decided to shim open the sheaths for a quick pass at 100 grit then used a coarse scotchbrite belt to remove the burr... no good! I have heard of doing this so it could have been something else... but skipped this on the next ones and they are great! :D

I am very meticulous about keeping knives clean and they get washed 2x before molding and checking for fit... sheaths also get washed 2x in with dawn and a scrubbie meant for teflon after a prewash spry out.

I'm always thinking of improvement, sometimes it is one step forward and two back but in the end things just keep getting better.

That Kydex bender tried to fix the problem but it still scratched when he sent it back. I sold that Busse. Bad move but o well. I'm sure he learned a remedy. Have you thought about lining your Kydex?
