massive props Sloth, just saw the folder on the site Daniel and it looks good...I put myself on a spending freeze and enjoying all my current knives haha :p

Iam no saint... :} Just keeping D's status up while he is gathering ammo. He's worked with me on my requests, so this is the least I can do. The membership should have gone through over the weekend...

Side note.. we are looking for a new place to move into, and the more we search the more we realize we are already in a place that is nearly everything we want.. more house doesn't make for a better life.. Newer (insert object) doesn't make life better.. Sure, to look around at all new solid wood cabinets and marble wouldn't be BAD lol, but isn't going to make happiness..

Sharing a bit here and there and saving for the next generation makes me more happy than new stuff.. (Ok, a few new knives help a bit :D )

So don't forget:

Life is suffering. Enjoy the suffering. Remind yourself you are alive. Then make some time for the kids or other family, and pass something on that is important- hugs. Ok I'm done being mushy.. later homies

Very good stuff there! Thanks so much too... you rock!

Looking forward to the weekend and some shop time. Mail Call yesterday... received some beautiful pieces of walnut, maple and the cocobolo I was looking for. I plan to cut and sand a few sample pieces of the coco to figure out how to finish it. It is super oily wood, so my typical Tru Oil won't work so well.

I'm a big advocate that hours spent in the shop 'screwing around' do not count toward the total hours of a man's life. Who's with me on this?

Peace

Good stuff!

I need to send you a link... or post it here when I find it. There is some stuff like tru-oil but even more high end and the finish just looks nuts... but whatever you are doing is doing it right because your scales are looking off the hook!

IIRC Cocobolo (or maybe it is Desert Ironwood) will react to most polymers and not allow them to set... something I just learned and it makes sense with the Ironwood I have been working with. I may be wrong on the Cocobolo part though...

Jade G10 and Tie -Dye ano Ti!

Big respect to Rolf Helbig (Lycosa), Phill Hartsfield and Ed Halligan for the design inspiration!

CA finish for cocobolo looks like glass, I use it on amboyna burl too.

I really should be back in bed now, but a small downside to living within 100 yards of no less than 3 bars (8 in less than a 1/4 mile) is that drunk friends suddenly remember which house is yours and come knocking. Lol, an old buddy of mine I haven't seen in a while, nearly got bit my dog and wanted to drink the rest of my booze! But, he's a boat owner looking for crew, he wants me to start racing again! I think I might just go show his current crew a thing or two, he's always paid me well, and when he hasn't it's always been an adventure worth remembering :p

Ugh, now to try and get back to bed... 0_0...

Cocobolaboration?

That does sound cool!

I may get this design waterjet cut with a few blade options... when I do lets talk! This design looks simple but took forever to lay out and they take a lot of tuning for everything to sit in the right open/closed positions. ...almost 2 weeks for 4 knives somehow...Some simple wj layout would make them more repeatable and affordable.

These could be big! I'm sending the three red ones out to a major film production company this week. :D

lol good stuff X!

I used to use a lot of CA on stones I cut... star bond is really quality.

The thin, gel, accelerator and debonder are all on hand here... good for knife stuff.

Final tuning day on the tantos! I need to take a few more thousandths off of the stop relationship area and re blast... I couldn't really test them until I press fit the Ti stop pin/thumb stud as I like to press it in once only. They are looking really good!

Nakago All Ti Bottle Opener Fricky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cleaned up my CAD work and got everything to go 3d (proves it will wj cut without trouble... took me a few years to learn how to do it nicely) I'm going over everything about a few more hundred times :D and should have some rough parts cut soon! I'm so excited to have the logistics on this lined up... these are going to be really good.

Here's the CA finish on amboyna burl, it can be a bit of a pain to do sometimes, but comes out nicely when buffed with white rouge.

Pure genius^^^^^ simplicity at the finest level
Thanks!!!! Most appreciated.

Yo D, When the heck did you start your Instagram?! Pure SSIK-ness!
Party hardy, y'all!
Pretty recently, still just getting it going but I love the simplicity and how it can work here too.

Kevin... your IG page rocks! You guys be sure to check it out.

Yes, Kevins IG page does rock. :D

I may have reactivate my Instagram account, I left once I caught wind of the details of their user agreement and the initiative to change it, but I haven't checked to see if they did or not. Seems all the cool kids hang out there now anyways.

Just got a new phone yesterday, galaxy S7 and the VR goggles too. The camera on this thing is nuts! There's a clip on lens attachment, I have manual controls, it's only 12mp compared to the S6 16, but it's about quality pixels, not quantity. I'm pretty stoked!

Got pizza on the way, cold beer in the fridge (dog fish head 90 minute) the wife is at a nighttime fun run and all is good! Can't find a single thing to complain about, making it great!
