The Cheburkov Channel--Picture & Discussion Thread

Here, maybe this will get things back on track. I don't think I shared this picture here. This knife is currently out for mods that are beyond my ability. I'll be sharing when I get it back. :)

At some point I want a damascus Russkiy. I almost bought one at the knife show, but I just could shell out that much after having spent so much on 2 other knives.

I liked the red carbon fiber version. They didn't have a cobra, but that's also under consideration for the future.

Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , we were back and forth about Alex's CF over at the EDC thread, and I'm just now seeing your Cobra's above which is pretty damn sweet too. As to my "best red" that you mentioned, it's worth noting that my Voron is CTek, not CF.

Regardless, I do immodestly agree with your assessment, as I truly do love that knife and its showside scale. Your CF Voron is quite the beauty too! :D

That CTek makes it even more unique. The Cobra seems to be my favorite at this point in time. I tend to like smaller knives.

I have only seen it offered on Olamic knives before Chazzy's knife.
Yeah, the former member that did the ironwood scales for my Manix 2 also did C-Tek. But he went out of business long ago I believe.

I'm finally in...
I've been quietly harboring a want for the Cheburkov Voron for a few years now. They always seemed to be out of stock or I didn't like the show side scale (okay, that only happened once). Finally, the stars aligned - a new to BladeForums dealer that had them, and with more than one scale option...the price seemed a bit higher than I remembered - but, hey, what doesn't cost more in late 2022?
I opted for scales on both sides, and went with red & black carbon fiber.

Figures - I made a point of mentioning it has scales on both sides, and deleted the pictures of the clip/lock side.
Here's a pic from yesterday that was posted in another thread (disregard the CRK)

Nice Voron, hhmoore hhmoore ! I notice your lockside scale is milled out at the clip like my Shiro F3 and 111 to help keep the profile down in hand on a thick handled knife. How's yours for pocket insertion? Those two of mine are OK, with the F3 a bit better than the 111--not a problem, but not the best either.

For my part, I've been on this CRK thing for the last 10 days, carrying each of mine consecutively, just for something to do and post a few places, but I've had a few days cheating with my Leader LW on the side too, as I can't resist the fondling, flipping (and cutting :D  ) as I continue to break in its stiff detent with it getting a bit better each day.

ChazzyP ChazzyP It's about what you describe - just okay. The clip is tight; but goes onto jeans without much issue. Clipping to anything lighter weight takes more...thought, if not effort - have to divert thought to it, vs just tucking it away by rote.

I'm guessing you bought it from Breathtaking Steel. I met the owner at a knife show in August, and he had been considering joining BF, and I convinced him to do it. I bought my Cheburkov Strizh and Biryukov #12 from him.

Great news that BT is now a BF Supporting Dealer. Here's the link:

I just received my third Cheburkov knife the other day, custom ordered from Alex and the Workshop for its blade finish. It's an absolutely gorgeous example of his Raven (Voron) with a fine stonewash on its 110 mm M390 blade, is an open back construction frame lock with steel insert, and has a beautiful red CTek scale applied to the presentation side. It's my first custom order and one of the most beautiful, elegant, and well-made knives I've acquired so far.

I came to Cheburkov knives through mention and postings from a member here that I had done some business with a few years ago. As a Russian maker, Workshop Cherburkova will inevitably be compared with another well-known producer, but I thought I'd start a new thread for Alexander's work as it is excellent, there is great variety amongst his offerings, their pricing represents great value, and his knives certainly deserve recognition and discussion on their own merit.

I'll post some pics of my new Raven here to start, but kindly let us see your Cheburkovs and share your thoughts or questions regarding these fine knives.
