The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

You are the one that got it..I was curious if it was going to show up here..Congrats!

Guilty. I wanted to buy pre-owned but never saw any mnandi mammoth offered below $600. I didn't have to have Damascus and love the simple elegance of a smooth neutral ivory color and stainless.

I bought one a few weeks ago that was about $100 more than you paid for yours from TNK. Considered selling it a few times..but I will hold onto it for awhile.
Regardless..Congrats on the score!

Look at your inbound's birthdates. ;)

Congrats on your score too. Is $100 the upgrade for a nice mammoth bark?

Ha, good catch. I hope Oct 22, 2012 wasn't the final day for a long time CRK employee and everybody was dipping heavily into the punchbowl before going back to make knives :)

Not what she meant I think. ;)

Beautiful knife. $100 upcharge? If TNK would have offered me that I would have said "Yes please".

I agree that this is a beautiful knife, but I really like yours as well. In my reptilian mind, it seems a pure or creamy white mammoth should be the most expensive. I say that owning only a mammoth bark with cracks and color variations, which I certainly love.

It just seems to me that the pure bone would be rarer, but I think now I'll do some further investigations into the subject.

Thanks Wrobelan. Yeah the smooth ivory and figured barks are both beautiful. To my eye the barks are more "striking" and ivory more "subdued/understated" (think Ginger vs Mary Ann). I do love the look of my incoming ivory but in the world of barked inlays the look of bhyde's mnandi is one of my favorites.

I'm still holding out hope that this one isn't lost forever. I paid a premium for this one just for the striking contrast in the bark.

Hopefully you two will be united soon. Some mammoth inlays can resemble wood, plastic, or some other material but that actually looks like it came from the tusk of some giant beast that became extinct and has been frozen in Siberian ice for 10,000+ years. A stunning piece.

[emoji20] how many days after leaving the international gateway in Poland? From Italy takes from 10 to 15 days and sometimes even 5 days in the American custom
