The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

It's funny how the term "hard use" is applied here(the forums). I've been in the armed services. served around the world and used folding knives on occasion... hard. Now, not. I don't think the average joe here uses any knife "hard". Maybe to field dress a deer, which I've done with a large as well as a small Sebenza. I've seen vids where guy are chopping though cardboard and crap just to see what it will do. That's fine. My point? Any chore you can give your Ti-Lok will not be a problem. I think it is a "hard use knife", though in the domestic capacity. Use it as you will, it won't fail. Guess I would be more worried about gumming it up with food or whatnot. Cleaning might be a bitch.

You think so? Even though it locks up nice, the locking mechanism still worries me slightly. I'd just hate to have it disengage and have to take a trip to the ER. But I understand what you're saying, my definition of hard use is probably very different from yours. Mine is working on weekend projects/building, some yard work, and of course, cardboard :p . I'll put the Ti-lock through its paces and see what it can do :D

Rite on. I don't mean to assume that people here don't use their folding knives hard. Just not what I would consider EDC use as hard. The projects you mentioned should be no issues for your Ti. But please take caution and don't cut yourself. Don't want that.... or at least post pix if you do. LOL :D

Too late...I already took a small chunk of my middle finger off when I was trying to figure out a way to close it one handed. Didn't even feel it at first, but all of a sudden I looked down at my keyboard and there was a chunk of skin laying on it, and that's when I noticed I was bleeding heh. At least now I know to close it two handed  .

I have my second sebenza coming, and it's a great one! A Large 21 with Cocobolo inlay. I have a plain large 21, and am looking forward to marveling over it's beauty!

Love all the new sebenza's. I still miss my satin large starbenza. Can't wait for a insingo one of these days.
I have a small micarta insingo with dual lugs on the way...

Oh yeah, and a large Starbenza too...:D

Cocobolo is a beautiful wood, one to cherish for sure!

Sorry to hear that. I just flip it over edge up, use my thumb and index finger to push the release. The blade does pop toward your hand, but no where near enough to cut you. It works.

I've been working on that method, it's gonna take me a while to perfect it and be able to do it in one fluid motion. But for now, carrying it out and about, two handed works for me.

I know it's not a CRK, but I just got confirmation that this little beauty has been shipped and is on route to me. I was on Michael's waiting list for close to 2 years before I finally got the call that my Estrella was ready. There are just so many things about this knife I find appealing, and I figure it's the closest i'll ever get to a Lochsa haha. I can honestly say that Michael Raymind was a pleasure to deal with. He made the whole process extremely easy and enjoyable. I'm going to have to sell off an old XM and one of my sebenzas to justify the cost, but I think it's going to be totally worth it. I think this knife might just bump by large cf sebenza out of my pocket and become my new primary EDC

note: This is not a picture of my knife, but rather one with the exact detailing to the one I ordered . I also paid extra to upgrade to a S90V blade and am anxious to see how it compares to S30V and S35VN which I have quite a bit of experience with.

Haha don't worry, I still own many other CRK's and they will always hold top spot in my heart. I didn't appreciate quality in knives until I purchased my first sebenza 4 years ago, and now they are the standard to which I hold all other knives.
