The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

Been thinking about getting a small CF sebenza for years. Kicked around a lot of options, but pulled the trigger on this small 31 today. I have several different variations of 21's. This covers quite a few new features for me. First insingo, first Carbon Fiber, first magnacut, first 31.

I have a 21 that just needs to be sharpened and I was almost that lazy to buy a 31

Lol, it was a hard choice. My 21's are perfect, so I don't need anything else, but I do. I use them so I don't need another user, but I do... The carbon fiber 31's with insingo magnacut were not available for a long time. When they showed up on the site today I figured it was time to try a 31.

Incoming a - Large 31/Tanto/Magnacut - that I picked up on the exchange on Monday, should arrive today
Note, a few weeks ago, I received my first NIB CRK - Large Inkosi/Insingo/Magnacut - and since then I picked up the above - and - another Large 31 DP from the exchange
Somehow, in less than a month, I went from zero to three CRK's, maybe someday I'll find a nice large 21 to try

Thought I was the only one...

I would say it's time for a support group, but there's nothing but enablers here.

I ordered my first, an inlayed Inkosi Insingo on September 25th. The sixth is due in on Monday...

My first large 21 showed up two days ago 🥺

I don't mean to throw cold water on the fire of enablement, but I've found a deeper appreciation for the knives I own when I'm not focused on chasing the next purchase. I've got seven Sebenzas, which is lavish in my estimation. Each one would represent a lifetime story of use and companionship. I won't live long enough to fully enjoy them!

This makes me think of those challenges where someone carries one knife for a whole year or even a month. I'm not sure how they do it. I like the variety of being able to change my carry from day to day. It's bad enough for me when I only have a small set while on vacation. If, when at home, I were to choose just a few to carry for even one week, I'm not quite sure what or how many I would choose (between CRKs and others). It would be an interesting exercise, though. I may need to try that some time just to see how much it messes with my head. :)

As for CRKs, I'm comfortable with the four magnacut I have now, the 'zaan tanto and three inlay, an S31 drop point, a L31 Insingo, and the L Inkosi tanto. I'm not quite ready to get another version of the same model just yet and I certainly don't need one. Perhaps I'm just insufficiently enabled. 😂 Of course, if there were a CF Inkosi with inlays on both sides like the micarta versions, I might just have to buy one, even if it were a tanto like I have now. Thankfully, that doesn't exist yet, nor does the magnacut Mnandi. Maybe eventually, but I'm in no rush.

I agree when making so many purchases, it becomes hard to really appreciate and bond with what you currently have. I was doing pretty good with my spending freeze till I ran into this crew! I’m back to being fully committed to not making any purchases till next year!

I also enjoy picking what I’m going to carry but I will usually carry the same knife for a few weeks at a time for 2 reasons, to get some quality time with it and to create some anticipation for carrying other knives. For example I’ve been only carrying CRK’s for the last month or so, when I finally put a LG back in my pocket, I’ll be excited to do so.

Or like this?
Similar, but not quite. That's just part of what I envisioned. Start with the KnifeArt large CF Inkosi. (On the KA site, navigate to CRK, Inkosi, large Inkosi, then to the CF large Inkosi - currently out of stock.)

To me, that model is PJ (though CF) because there are no inlays on either side. Now, add the CF inlays as your images show to both sides of that CF/PJ. So, it would have CF inlaid on titanium on one side and CF inlaid on CF on the other side. This would give the additional texture of the inlay to both sides, but still keep the lighter weight of the all CF side.

I’ll pass on that. I’ve owned 3 CF Inkosi and the CF defeats the entire purpose the Inkosi was designed to be. They sure are pretty but pretty doesnt get the job done. The Inkosi is a hard use knife and the CF scale will never out last or work the Ti.
