The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

It's not a new knife, but I'm anticipating my 25 from being anodized. Can't wait!

It will be home before the week is out, and with the way the scales have collected a "pocket wash" of scratches and snail trails, it will be interesting!

Can you recolor a faded UG?

I can, however the caveat is "will I do a better job than CRK?" My guess is not. I am confident in my work but since CRK will do it for any CGGs or UGs that are not inlayed with a stone (etc.) then I'd probably just go through the mothership. If it's an inlayed model then I can do it but with some reservations and limits for the same reason the professionals do not want to mess with it! Maybe CRK will not polish inlayed models, but will still offer recoloring?

Not inlayed, just an old Regular. I understand they charge $75 to recolor, I don't yet know what you'd charge.

Well, PM me if you want but I wouldn't charge much less and the only advantage would be my turn around time. My polish won't look as good or, more accurately, "the same" as CRKs either so I'd recommend having them do it for that particular one! Also, they'll be able to do your thumbstud whereas I won't. Hope I've been helpful :)

Regards,

No, because it's a harder steel and they can't replace it if they crack it. They won't tumble BG-42, either.

There's a clue if I have ever seen one ;)

Beautiful knife blackend!!!
Always good to see when folks acquire the rare one. :)

Thx friends. Talked with Angela at CRK yesterday. She confirmed no more orders for ivory are being taken. They are trying to fill as many previous orders as supply allows. Get em while you can.

The 'zaan arrived today. It is a very nice knife. I like the blade shape as it it slightly "straighter" than the Sebenza. I had been thinking of trying to get the tanto but this blade is good. The knife opens smoothly and feels very good to hold, maybe a little better than the Seb. It is also quiet to open and close, there is no click on open or close like the Seb has. I am liking this a lot as first impressions and am glad to have bought it. Though this will be it for a while as the money bag has definitely been depleted :) as I am sure that many of you will understand.
Take care
Anthony

I'll bet I end up with ^^^ knife someday. For some reason, that birthdate is like a bad penny to me, it keep coming back. Any year, as long as it's Jan 31. :p
