Inspired by the "The CRK Insingo Hangout!" (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1216818-The-CRK-Insingo-Hangout!)

Figured why not have one for the Tantos too! CRK certainly does a great Tanto...

A place to share your thoughts, pictures & experiences with the Tanto bladed CRKs...

Yesterday i received my first Sebenza Tanto...a large 21...and i am surprised how great a tanto blade looks on the Sebenza...

I like mine. It's a great blade that does a lot more than many would assume.

I have used mine to clean and fillet fish when no other sharp blades were available, and it worked quite well.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures.
Do owners mind sharing, is it difficult to sharpen these tanto style blades?

Can a wicked edge system be used easily on these?

Thanks.

I don't have a wicked edge, I just use a ceramic chefs rod and a belt. Works great and very easy.

I really like that configuration, a Larger Micarta Tanto - will eventually have to add one of those when the opportunity arises. Beauty!

The front edge is convex. I think it would be a shame to attempt to sharpen it on a guided system like the wicked edge.

It is very easy to sharpen it on wet/dry sandpaper on a soft backing (such as a mouse pad) followed by a strop.

I suppose a guided system would work well enough on the back edge, but you'd REALLY be doing things the hard way (and possibly for lesser results) attempting to use a guide on the front.

Both cutting edges are convex from CRK, but your point is well taken about how difficult it would be to flat grind the front "chisel".

I need another CRK tanto. I had a Large 21 Micarta Tanto as an EDC for several months, and it was a phenomenal knife. Maybe I need a TNK Umnum this time...
