The last ten days have been amazing for us Spyderco lovers, with many new releases like the Sage RIL, the Manix II and the Moteng Lums.:)
Of course, when new models come out, everybody usually tries to make an extra buck by pricing them closer to MSRP.:thumbdn:
Well, almost everybody. Jeff from Cutlery Shoppe is pricing those new Spydercos exactly like all the other models he carries: around 54% of MSRP!
So I went shopping this week and thanks to Jeff's pricing policies I was able to buy 3 new Spydies without breaking the bank.
And I pre-ordered the Ti Millie:D, and of course was not charged: Jeff charges your CC only when your order ships.
I wish more online knife retailers followed his example.

Agree. I've been ordering most of my Spydies from Jeff lately, a couple more arrived yesterday.

The Sage in CF or Ti is not at 54% off.
None of the LUMs are at 54% off either.
Can you give me a link?

Sorry, my bad. Actually 52.8%;) We may speak a different language though: I say 52.8% OF MSRP, you say OFF MSRP, that's two different things.

I agree too that Jeff has some of the best prices around and it's not just for Spyderco products but many others, like Cold Steel.

I have not so good experience with www.cutleryshoppe.com
First order was throught email, paid with PayPal, and there wasn't any problem.

But my second order throught web pages and bank transfer took about 12 days to proceed.

Edit (after few days): Finaly solved, and arrived. :)

I respectfully disagree. AFTER my order was placed and paid for I was informed via email the knife was on back order. A week later I received a knife loaded with blackened grease and fibers around the pivot like pocket link. The owner says "It can't happen". I got a used knife from cutlery shoppe. Never again!!

7 years later you bring back a thread to disagree.......first post. yeah.......

cutlery shoppe is a great dealer. i've spent thousands of dollars over many, many years. only had one problem and Jeff made it right.

I am going to have to call crock on this one......sorry.
Jeff has been an absolute stand up guy every time I dealt with him.....period. You're saying he sold you a used knife as new??
Did you call him and explain your issue?? You have to at least give him a chance to make it right.

So you ordered a Sage and the action was gritty when you received it. As unpleasant as that may sound, it happens. Taichung Spydies on occasion arrive gritty. You could have sent it to Spyderco under warranty or returned it to Jeff for a refund or exchange. Instead you decided to take it apart. When he says he's not taking back a knife that's been disassembled, you accuse him of selling you a used knife. No retailer I know will accept a knife back after it's been taken apart. Some manufacturers will warranty a knife that's been disassembled. Spyderco is in a grey area in that regard.

Instead of throwing around accusations because your interaction with Jeff didn't go your way, why not let us know how the knife came out and how you like the Sage? I'd be willing to bet that after cleaning it, the action is superb and you're happy with it.

Believe what you want. I got the knife and it was gritty as hell. Opened and closed it repeatedly over the weekend and it didn't get any better. A knife with 6 screws is hardly a rubik's cube so with 30+ years as a tool and die maker I figured I could field strip a 6 screw knife easier than my 1911 or my Para Ordnance and get it back together alright. I took it apart to clean and re-lube it and it was loaded with black grease and what looked like cotton or nylon fibers Now you tell me; They come from Taiwan like that?! I emailed Jeff wondering it it may have been a return and somehow gotten through the system. Rather them exhibit a thread of good will and positive customer relations he just says "it can't happen". Well then it just magically appeared. If he didn't sell it knowingly it still got out his door to mine. Yeah I posted to an older thread. My bad. You wanna call "crock", you didn't see the knife I received. Deal with it the best way you can!

So instead of complaining about it here why didn't you simply return it for another knife or a refund? That would seem like a logical course of action instead of trying to blow a guy up on a forum for a mistake that could be resolved easily. Just saying
