For the record if it were me that recieved that knife I would have taken it apart and cleaned it too. And that would be the end of the story. Did your knife turn out ok? You never mentioned if it did. If it's still messed up then yeah, you're SOL. But that's the risk you run when you start working on knives. If you're still unhappy with the knife I'm sure there are plenty of people who would take it off your hands.

What exactly did you want from Jeff after you took apart the knife? A partial refund credit for selling you a 'used' knife?

CutleryShoppe is basically a one-man company. Everything goes through Jeff's hands. So if you're accusing his company of something you're accusing him. So when he says it's impossible for a dirty used knife to be resold as 'new', its because he personally looks at every return. It's waaaay more likely that it came that way from the factory.

My own experience with Jeff at CS, buying at least 30 folders over the past 5 years from him, has always been positive. On one occasion there was a problem, which when he found out about he promptly made it right.
I am fully confidant in continuing to purchase at Cutlery Shoppe.

Problem with your insult to us post above...........is you arent a forum guy who discusses knives and experiences. You showed up here out of no where to hammer on a known good dealer. Bet you also went and hit every review site out there to get your revenge. My advice is to learn how to deal with problems better than posting bad things all over the internet. Good day Sir.

The warranty clearly states don't take the knife apart. What's the first thing you did??? Right.....take it apart...then bitch and moan because everyone should know you, above all others, are able to complete this task.

Some folks just have no common sense, as you have demonstrated and qualified here with your experience. I don't care if you have 3 minutes on the job as a "tool and die maker" or 3 decades, that has nothing to do with anything. When you buy a knife, if it does not come as advertised or as it should (whatever that actually is) you simply return it. Trying to disassemble a knife and "fix it" yourself and getting shut down as a result pretty much makes your complaint null and void. So, for someone "your age" I'm guessing around early to mid 50s, your comments are out of line and demonstrate your own short comings; thanks for identifying yourself for what you really are. Take some responsibility for your actions before insulting people. You made your own mess and then tried to push the blame on someone else? Right.

I did just praise my positive experiences, and point out that with that seller I have had no bad experiences.
Discussing bad experiences can work out well here. Non-objective venting usually doesn't.

I'm too old fat and ugly to make a good adult rated anything.
