The Damascus are Coming!!

I don't know...I can't really dig the "I wish I would have known" thing. Sure, Dave oversold, but he didn't know. And also, some people bought many more than two. For something like a limited run that's already been extremely popular, one would think that someone who actually wanted multiples (for whatever reason, it's their business) would find any opportunity and seize it. I did. I know that any extra that I have can easily just be sold anyway, so it's not as if getting an extra one will leave you stuck with it.

I got two from Dave, and one of them is going to KnottyEagle. I wanted more than one anyway, so I ordered like 40 from House of Blades. So there. Poo poo on me! :p

I'm expecting my package today, I'm assuming since I didn't get a refund I will get what I ordered. Crossing my fingers here, As long as I have one I'm good.

Dont be so sure...thats what i expected too... i ordered 4 skylines (2 for me and 2 for my non-forum friends) and i received one skyline. i havent seen a refund yet, but im sure dave is swamped with stuff right now.
 
Likewise, ik i was up the list and ordered exactly what I asked for so I am crossing my fingers. If mine doesn't fit in the mailbox I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow...

I personally believe many people are lucky to even get one, it was pretty clear that it would be first come first serve. I have missed the boat on a lot of knives and "oh well" is all I have ever said. If my order was limited to accommodate a bunch of people crying and whining I will be upset. I was working nights when dave was putting the list up and stayed up most the day after working 7pm to 7am constantly refreshing the forums to make sure I caught his list as early as possible.

As far as the pre-order thing goes, I pre-ordered 2 and am receiving one. I do wish Dave would have notified us sooner that he oversold them so I could have gotten another one from House of Blades. Oh well Blade HQ claims more coming in and I'm on their email list to be notified.

It happened in a 24 hour time period, I did not have time to react, it was a fire storm. I think it would be easier to throw them on the web site and let it rip, but I care about my customers and I treat them the way I would want to be treated, I want as many of them to have a particular knife as possible . As far as people making money by flipping them, hey that is part of it too and we can't control it , so why worry about it. Just to give you an example, I decided I would actually go out in the yard and work yesterday after church and get away from the knives for a few hours, the result was 74 packages to print labels for and wrap, was up till 1:30AM and got part of it, not complaining here, great problem to have, but sometimes things can get away from you.
 
It's all good Dave, it's very commending of you to take care of us and spread the wealth. I'm still happy to be getting a Skyline. My Girl will enjoy it and actually use it.

Reason you didn't see refund is because second package is coming with the other three.
 
So I guess if we got the refund then that's it, no more packages? Oh well..guess I wasn't as high on the list as I thought.

Yeah sometimes we forget how much time it takes to do what you do Dave, so a big thanks to you!

And jhyde yeah those white boxes just bring a smile, this will be my first damascus ones so I'm pretty excited to see em in person. 7pm can't get here soon enough!
