The Damascus are Coming!!

Yeah same here. I've have a Dam Leek since they were first released and this round I picked up a shallot. It'll be my first shallot actually. Now my Onion series will be complete!
I really wanted a Skyline but thanks to all you jackasses preordering 3 or 4 from Dave the box was empty by the time he got to my name. Hahaha
Oh well....

Still I wanna see that Zing!

I ask Dave about the Zing and Salvo, his words were I don't think they made those.

Between BladeHQ, Dave, and House of Blades, it's no one's fault but you're own. :D

Lots of Damascus Kershaw popping up on the auction site over the weekend. Was there another run or something?:D

I preordered two and paid for two, still only got one. And I was high on the list, so take that for what it's worth..

Dealers need to start limiting sales to 1 per model on these hard to get items to prevent flipping.
People are always gonna try to make a buck. No way around it, but it does suck sometimes. I wanted 2 Skylines, but only ordered one. I wanted the second as a bargainig chip to try to get a BF Skyline.

I disagree. People can just do what I did, and order from multiple vendors. Limiting quantities may help with getting stock to a customer base (as Dave does, which we all appreciate), but attempting to control the secondary market is just silly.

Besides, I like having multiples of collectible pieces. I won't even mention how many Damascus Skylines I've gotten because it seems it may make some folks a bit...grumpy.

The thing with Dave is kind of different than the other vendors IMO. He gave us a heads up that they were coming, and let us do a preorder to facilitate the process. The other vendors, to my knowledge, did no such announcement of preorder. Therefore I think it seems a little sketchier to buy excessive amounts strictly to turn a profit.

If someone hopped on BladeHQ and stumbled upon dam skylines, bought 5 and sold 4 .. well I am just jealous I am not that guy.

When I saw Dave's thread I emailed him pretty quickly to put me down for a Zing and a Skyline. I thought I got into it pretty early. Thats why I didn't bother with BladeHQ or KnifeCenter ect. I guess I was wrong. Emailing Dave was no guarantee one will be reserved for you, and he made that clear, so he's certainly not at fault. I was mine.

As far as limiting the number of sold per customer... hard to say really. Maybe limit 2 per costumer? Sometimes if I really like a knife I want two, and I intend to keep them both. But yeah if you're buying 4 or 5 of them only to make a profit later thats pretty low. That does no good for the hobby. Distributors will have no problems selling them so it's no skin off their backs if they do set a limit.

I'm not gonna complain or blame anyone, it is what it is.
Now on to the exchange!

True story, happened to me also. (Pre-ordered 2 on sunday, not January)

I got one more also from HOB. The thing is though, I would have gotten two from HOB had I known that one of mine's from Dave was gonna get..what's the proper term, oh nevermind!

Just got looked at my tracking number and my package from Dave will be here today!

As far as the pre-order thing goes, I pre-ordered 2 and am receiving one. I do wish Dave would have notified us sooner that he oversold them so I could have gotten another one from House of Blades. Oh well Blade HQ claims more coming in and I'm on their email list to be notified.
