The Dirty Trick Sawback 12!!! . . . Is Alive!!! . .

Wow, I really like it. Is it a coincidence that I have been re-watching the Rambo movies this week end? Any chance of a stonewashed version?

Nice, congrats to all who get one, still holding out for a full sized TNT-15 or another Busse-kin sword though.

I think I’m in. I passed on the DT-12 but those saw teeth!!!! If this thing has CBDs like the battle saw I’d probably have to get a few.

The battle saw is one of my favorites so this is a nice less pricy option.

Wanna just say.. If pull saw teeth on a *straight handle* are more dangerous why are the best folding camp saws all exclusively pull saws? Bahco, Silky, Coleman, Corona, etc...

Truely not trying to be negative; or naysay; but this sounds like a salesmans pitch.. pretty words for people who don't use saws very often.

No cabinet maker is going to use a straight handle to "cut a drawer". Comparing a dovetailed carpentry saw to a straight handled camp knife with a sawback is a non sequitur. Of course you can apply more weight to a dove tail. Your hand can't run up a blade.. it's in a safe little ergonomic hole.

There are the old timber saws used by forestry guys.. but they are almost exclusively crosscut, and usually required 2 people (I am aware they made one handed ones.. I have a couple). Even bucksaws, and bow saws (Agawa makes a very impressive one) are crosscut normally as well.

Also the notching thing is a non existent problem from my anecdotal usage. I notch with a laplander or silky all. the. time. Never had an issue with "straight cut edges". It's so little to saw its almost an irrelevant point to make in my mind.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion though so feel free to disagree. Just giving my .02 being a skilled carpenter, and someone who almost exclusively saws trees down. I saw them down almost weekly on my land conserving tulip poplars big and small as it's less work. Also much faster than chopping (axes are fun sometimes.. also great for undercuts and wedging I admit).

That being said I still think it's a cool knife. Cool is basically all these teeth are in this application though; in my opinion.

I will always love ya'lls product though. Have fun with this one guys 😁. I may be new to Busse, but I'm not new to saws. At all. Saw talk took longer than I thought lol.

I am jealous my DT-12 never came with a double cut option though. Bums me out a tad.. I might have even bought this had a jerk not stolen my identity yesterday. I can't buy anything for a week now 😩.

Forgive a fairly member of the pound who only bought used SYKCOs so far: how will we know when exactly it goes life ? Is the account that I just created (enabling product updates, etc.) enough ? Thx.

😳

This Sawback Rocks!!!

Snardvark,

I disagree with many of your observations about the DT-12 saw. . . .

When I have a little more time this afternoon or this evening, I will respond to your saw comments. But first, I must get Johnnie Walker's opinion on this matter. After that, I will be coming in hot!!!

Prepare for facts that will blow your mind, my friend!!!!

Let's Drink!

Ok. I'd be interested to hear it bossman.

Edit: I concede on the straight handled "cutting a drawer" thing as the option of straight handled miter saws exists. I had completely forgot about those at time of writing this. They are also about 4 inch wide blades though. So I doubt you could run your hand up it. It's also in a miter box.

These mind blowers sound like new tools for me so win win I suppose (as if money spent on tools wasnt already the bane of my wifes existence 😂)

Mr. B, you're about as good at trash talk as Tinfoil Hat Timmy is at coming up with knife names. Good luck. I'm always eager to learn new things.
