The edc one knife challenge thread

I learned that I don't like the tiny thumb stud on the dozier, and the coating lasts about as long as spray paint. Still, a wonderful knife for a great price, holds an edge well, unless you open up a tin can with it, and super slim in the pocket. I'll post up an in depth review this weekend hopefully.

They also make a version of the Dozier that has an oval hole instead of the stud.

It would be neat to do a side by side test of the Dozier and the Cutco 1891. Same basic blade, different handle. Big difference in price.

Not concerned about who wins at this point; the challenge was a superb learning experience and I'm pleased to have taken part. Knowledge is more valuable prize than anything material. Great idea, Riley!

I have to agree 100%.

Alright guys, and the winner(s) are!!!!
1st place-Spyder59! That sheath really put him over the edge.
Shoot me your info and I'll have BladeHQ send you a brand new Kabar Dozier!
2nd place-Kwon Kwang! The guy with probably the most posts here deserves something! So shoot me your info and I'll send you out some stainless lanyard beads and some other cool stuff.
Thanks for participating everybody, it was cool seeing a squirrel skinned with a balisong, and guys try and carry an SAK for a month, along with much much more!

I came across this thread too late in order to obtain something that would be both 'out of the norm' for me and suitable enough for EDC to participate  ...but I sure as heck enjoyed following it!!!!

Spyder59...my hats off to you, Sir. An Adventurer of one sort or another just moved to the top of my short list. :D

Shot you a pm Riley12.
Thanks a lot. This is exciting. I never win anything. I really really enjoyed this thread. I'm going to pay it forward after an appropriate amount of time and do another thread just like it in the future. Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea Riley. How about some ideas for a prize knife peeps. Hint hint, I really really like Kwons Companion. I might have to get two for myself, and use one in a new EDC challenge thread sometime in the future.
Mmmmm I wonder what to do with the extra one? [emoji41]

Steal away!
I gotta say, I want a companion too. Looks like I'll be trying to find one.

Congrats to the winners! I definitely learned a few things in my short time in the competition, and would consider doing it again...with a different knife that's not quite as far out of my comfort zone as the serrated Dragonfly was.

I spent some time doing the challenge...then I got a few more knives! I was also carrying all of my collection to get ideas and see how to make a knife I was building as best I could. Plus I really banged up my thumb a few times and needed a foxed blade for the past few weeks. Im OUT of the challenge unfortunately, but love the idea still!

Gotta Give it up to Riley12. The Dozier came in on Monday. I even got to choose my color. It's a nice knife. Thanks again Riley. Great idea for a thread. I post a pic later when I get back home.
