Alright guys, this is it. This is where you will be posting your usage of your knife for the next month.
Remember, that's your only knife!
You may carry others but you must use your choice as the SOLE cutting tool!
The most creative person will win a BRAND NEW Kabar Dozier folding Hunter!
Good luck, have fun, and don't lose any fingers.

The sign up thread is already passed and if you did not post there you are not in the challenge.

Sweet!

Thought I'd start off with something sort of difficult to cut. Some of my knives have thinner edges than this Companion and do this sort of thing a little better, but it got the job done just fine and without any special help, so I don't think I'll be reprofiling it just yet.

After that, I cut some paper for the hell of it. About half of these cuts were push cuts. For some reason, I found it easier.

From a manix 2 xl to this... Where's the point in this swap? On the manix, of course! I guess I'll have to learn to live without for a few days... Or weeks. I'm missing it already. The assist is a very one purpose knife that I'm trying to use for everything

Starting off showing the knife that's my edc for this month. It's the Bark River Necker, but I'll be carrying it several ways. Today Carrying it in a self modified sheath scout style.

You should probably post that the sign up was on another thread and has now ended for those who are just now seeing this and want to participate.

Let it begin!
I'll be the first to admit I don't know what I'm doing. But I have a couple sheets of kydex and a heat gun so here goes!
.
Rough sketch to start. I'd like the knife to carry as deep as possible so it looks like it would be smart to make it so the kydex just about completely envelopes the knife.
However, to make access to the knife easier I'm going to try to only mold the bottom half and leave the upper section somewhat open or 'loose'.
I'm going to initially try and leave a cut-out section for my thumb and index finger to gain some purchase on the handle.
.
I'm already wishing I had a different color other than black for the kydex so it'll be easier to sheath in darker environments. So it goes! Onward!

(In the meantime I'll be carrying the Trekker like this:)

Very nice! Look forward to seeing the sheath!

Cutting up some leather, making some belt loops to attach to the i-phone sheath I made.

After trimming up and attaching to the molding board. This will become two belt loops.

To start the day off I tossed all my other normal "EDC" (cheapo) knives in the drawer not to see the light of day again for a month.

Did a little more shaping to the POS before the competition. I still dont like it but whatever. Again, this was a failed copy that was tossed initially tossed in the scrap pile. I dug it out, heat treated it with a torch and then tossed a soft wood handle on just to see if I like a 3 finger grip or not. This contest is the PERFECT opportunity to be forced to use it for a month and at the end I will know what I need to know.

I cleaned up the edge a bit and tossed it in my pocket. I may end up making a new sheath with a pocket clip for it similar to what I did for my cousin so that it will stay in the position pictured...not sure yet.

Got to work and opened some letters and a couple packages. So far...it cuts LOL

Wasn't able to find a better way to conceal it for work, so it looks like I'll be carrying this bad boy cowboy style today:cool:

this came in about a week ago, so I got a head start. Loving it so far....used it to peel some apples for my daughter's lunch:-)

These were push cuts. No cutting board or anything of the sort was used. I just held the cheese and the Companion easily went through.
