You're welcome! FYI I have a tiger if you're looking. That's extremely helpful to put it in perspective. Looks like I'll be adding one to my little Black Friday order. Thanks a ton.
The apache is available from eki rnLemme try out that Skinner first and see if it scratches the itch. If not, I'll hit you up for Tiger #2.
The EX-100 is one of the few left I'd like to get, too, though I don't expect them to bring it back anytime soon. That and the Apache...

You're right I get those 2 confused all the time. It's the Appalachian, not the Apache.
The Appalachian is awesome, but it's definitely got the feel of a dedicated hunting knife, even moreso than the Tiger. The super-upswept front of the blade has made it surprisingly difficult to use for some "utility" tasks. Mine also has the stiffest detent of any Emerson I've got which, combined with the thumb disk being super close to the frame, makes it a little more of a pain to flick out than most Emersons. (Still easy, but noticeably worse than something like a CQC7 or a Seax)
LOVED the Appalachian when I first got it - the ergonomics are spectacular, and the blade is a GREAT slicer - but I've found it usually ends up in the case and I'd prefer to carry something else.
(FWIW: The Kwaiken and Hattin are in the same boat for me - objectively great knives that subjectively don't give me what I need.)
The Apache looks to have basically the same handle as the 10 which is one of my favorite Emerson handles. And Emerson's clip points are hard to beat. I suppose at some point I'll just pay $400 to somebody on eBay or here to get one.
