The Emperor's Gunting

Bram,
Good to have you back.I have the February 2001 Blade and the March 2001 Tactical Knives. There is still no article on the Gunting.I realize their lead time is several months, but they should have an article by now.I thought I'd see the picture my wife took of all of us at the Beach blade in Myrtle Beach.

Bram,
I would be honored.
I hope my title is "Chief Naysayer"

BTW, my Gunting went back to Golden today for a broken screw..oopss..

Anthony...Gads,,great way to start..Ok you get somethingspecial to make up for the broken screw..Bythe way..which one broke???

Mickey: Mike Janich did an article on the GUNTING it was a Nov 15th deadline...with sidebar as well...no idea when it will appear..BUt I was told soon! No word on beach blade..article..but look for it..
writing one now on GIUNTING & Beach Blade for IKF & Black belt....

CALIBER magazine in Germany,EXCALIBER magazine in France all have mulitpul articles on the GUNTING...

"Chief Naysayer" it is!!!!
No problemo....
All good people need a sincere Naysayer to keep them in line!!
Good job!!!

The action of my Gunting felt a bit gritty so I attempted dissasembly to clean and lube, upon trying to unscrew a rear scale screw "pop" one of the pan-heads snapped right off. No biggie.

Looks like the screw in question was a bit weak or soft since all the others unscrewed perfectly.

Also looks like I will need a sheath since I find it nearly impossible to safely carry in my pants pocket.

My apologies, Anthony (& Bram). We're still learning the "tricks" about building this knife. First "Kinetic" for us, First "Compression lock" for us. We're persistant & tenacious. We'll get it right a evolve it. It is a worthwhile concept. We're still juggling steel & part hardness.

Sal,

No Biggie. I am very impressed with the ability of the compression lock to withstand some serious hammering so far.

I look forward to many more knives with this lock.
