The "End All" Knife

I have that problem, yes. However I have even more of a problem with, when I'm looking at knives and see one I really like, I'll think "Man... If I had that knife, that'd be the knife that I'd stick with as my true everday knife, and we'd go on all sorts of adventures together and get scratched, dented, and patina'd together... I'm sure that that would be the knife that stopped me from rotating all the time." Then I get it, admittedly love it most of the time, but keep on rotating my carry every day.

Nah. There is almost always an upgrade out there.

I have moved to mostly replacing knives rather than adding to. I keep a couple of beaters, but I have hit the point where when a knife comes in, another goes.

Eventually, down this path, my beaters will be Rocksteads of this keeps up.

I'm mostly DONE!
I have traded several the last few years from Arizona Custom Knives. Lots of knives I really like but never had the money to buy.
Bought a Launch 15 last month partly because of Magnacut. Only the second knife bought this year.

Just don't be like "wtf??" When looking at your amassed collection in your advanced age" because you can't take it with ya so --- some folks here will have insane estate sales

Yup, that's true. I have a little over a handful of knives that I don't ever carry, and I just have them displayed on a shelf on my desk. Not displayed for others to see, as most just wonder why you have so many knives, but displayed so I can enjoy them everyday and grab one to play with. But all the rest get carried in a random rotation.

Yup I had a new knife when I visited my dad this summer that I wanted to bring to show him and use lightly, but he said something like "You better just use that thing for whatever you want, otherwise some asshole's going to throw it at trees or sell it for dollars on the penny after your gone." It made me think and I started using that bad boy for everything on that trip.

For me I'm monastic, ( not a monk, but adherent to some ways) I own next to nothing
As for knives I'll use everything, if it' costs 25k, I'll use it --- but someone else better have brought it,because I sure as hell won't ha! Because...
it's what it is, a tool and a weapon
So that's why my EDC is a Mora Basic

You guys ever tell yourselves "okay just this last knife and I'm done collecting?" I just bought mine off WTG and am wondering if it will really be the end. Mind you I said this about the Paramilitary 2 and Bugout and that was about $1200 ago.
I could quit anytime ! 🤥

Really , yeah I could . 😇

Trouble is, I would immediately double down on a bunch of other, far worse, addictions . 😒

Long as I keep to my very modest budget , the knife thing is probably the least evil hobby , possible for me . 🤗

Hey that's cool man! Yeah I really appreciate people who are true minimalists. I've had periods of my life where I only owned what was in my car, or when I got to the house I'm at now I only had 1 backpack, and one of those travel luggage suitcases on wheels. There is a huge peace that I felt at that point knowing that I could just grab my 2 bags and leave to anywhere in a moments notice.

I've always thought it would be cool to be a monk, and have even tossed the idea around for later in life after my parents are gone and what not.

This thread idea is over done
Break the mold with knives and ask the infinite mind that is google "why" do people collect and you'll get your answer more or less. The knife industry and all the manufacturers know the hunger for the new, bizarre and strange and as long as they keep delivering, there will be no end
Sounds like someone’s jonesing for a knife purchase or purchases! 😂

There's a lost dime in every journey.
It's just stuff, mostly--- let's get back on track
Kudos, LimpCroissant

I always seem to have about 3 knives on the short list. I've often thought that I would quit when I reached the end of the short list. But I never reach the end. I always seem to need about 3 more knives before I'm ready to quit.

There's a list of 20+ knives I want. But their use for me is superfluous, of this list, reiff f3, exodus 3, BHK Sisu, haunts me still, to name a few

Right now I'm at the last knife this month or last knife for this quarter stage. I was trying to maintain a hard cap of a dozen knife purchases this year, but I expect to go over by a few knives by next month and then maybe a couple more before the end of the year. Last year I tried to limit myself to twenty-five knives and went way over due to some big sales, but I know that will never happen again...
