The "End All" Knife

Even if you have covered all bases, there is always the refinement phase:

Let's hypothetically say you're happy with a Kabar, in 1095 and now there's one made of 3V and another one made of Magnacut and another one made of Rostafrei, and another one made of scraps of Thor's hammer...

Will you be able to resist indefinitely?

I'm guessing someone just got himself a K340 "Ares" in the most recent drop.

Personally, I think "Joe X" is a douche-packer.

Despite that, he made that particular knife a LEGEND.

*Victor Lin and his Crew build AMAZING knives.
I scored an Ares today as well. Within 5 minutes, they were gone. Joe X sold me on this one a while ago. I don’t often buy knives because of that guy but the fact that he couldn’t put a scratch on it impressed me

This is correct. No choil either, I need all of that sweet, sweet edge.

Lol I was waiting with my wallet for the clock to strike 7. I immediately got the email that it was in stock and completed my order.

I like Joe X. Yeah, he is kinda ridiculous, making fun of brands for knives breaking when he uses them in ways the manufacturer says not to. But as you said, he's actually decent advertising. I've picked up a couple knives because of him.

I just admitted to actually being a collector so my list is a bit longer than the “End All”. I have 4 knives to buy and I think only 2 more to sell before Im done. Luckily for me the 4 left will take some serious hunting and thats what Im actually addicted to more then the knives themselves!

There is never a last knife. There is just the last one you bought. I think I'll always be interested in knives but at some point you have to admit you have all you need and more. I'm sure I'll find a new one I "need" but I'm hoping it takes a while.

As far as EDC folders go, I’ve pretty much stopped desiring new ones after buying the GB2. I bought a backup and I’m set for a while.

Try the GB1, it's even better.

🤣

You guys ever tell yourselves "okay just this last knife and I'm done collecting?" I just bought mine off WTG and am wondering if it will really be the end. Mind you I said this about the Paramilitary 2 and Bugout and that was about $1200 ago.

Think about it this way: guns, bikes, cars, boats and girlfriends are more expensive (in that order).

My “end all” knife will probably be the mighty BUSSE MOAB! Very difficult because I live overseas and my country customs /aduana are a pain in the neck.

Done "Collecting", or done buying knives?

Don't think I haver ever actually collected knives. I don't have many that I have bouht for myself. Do have a cigar box with knives myh well-meaning family have bought me . . .that I don't really like.

But done? No. I am not finished buying knives. For instance: Our adult son has been gifted a Colt Commander by a friend in thanks for a professional service done as a favor. I intend to give him a knife that takes grip panels for the 1911 to make a matching set. It may be a folder, or it may be a fixed blade . . .or maybe I'll go stupid and get him both for Christmas.

The next knife I buy for myself might possibly be a Leatherman multitool if they ever bring out a version of their Wave that is enough improved to move me to ditch my current EDC Wave and spend over $100 on whatever comes next.

Now then, if I ever win a nice lottery jackpot, then I may buy a few high dollar one-offs just because I can.

So, so many knives have been my "last knife" and yet somehow I keep finding another one that will fill a certain roll "better" and for sure that one will be my last, because nothing better will ever come along after that one, right? 🙃
