WOW! What a great story. What old knife nut would not love this story. Brought back of memories of me talking my Grandfather into buying my first knife when I was five and now just turning sixty four and still love knives. Thanks Carl.

That was absolutely wonderful. Stirred up a lot of emotions. Thank you for that.

Thanks Carl. A very touching story. Funny ... I seem to have got some dust in my eye and started to tear up right at the end there.

Good story Carl. I do like the fact that he got to go out after spending a day at his childhood fishing hole.

Thank you Carl, I'm not cryin it's my allergies...really;)

I swear I won't have my final ticket punched in a Nursing Home---My boy's have detailed directions of what to do---and that's a fact:thumbup:

Just read this story, and thought I should just post to say I'm leaving for work a couple hours early on my way to work with a fellow ET by the coincidental name of Sam McGhee. Great story, by the way. Thanks

Great story, though I was expecting a tale about a man "from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows". This is certainly one of your best!

Enthralling Carl, a great piece of writing. A real treat as always. I hope we all get a chance at a last escape
