Nice. I'm a 45 fan myself but finally swapped to Glock for EDC.

I respect what Glocks can do, but they feel like crap in my mitts.

1911s rule.

No pics, but Taurus pt1911 and a Ruger Super blackhawk .44mag.

at least before the boating accident...I'll snag some pics tonight. I mean find some pics from before the boating accident....

Nice photo Boats - as usual...

I really like my Kimber Custom II. A agree, government models are the way to go. I wish I would have had the money to buy the Kimber TLE though, the tritium sights would have been nice.

Been thinking about upgrading some of the parts with Wilson Combat components, but would like to put a few hundred rounds through to help justify replacement.

My favorite plastic pistol:

Beretta PX4F 9mm with 20+1 on tap. This one with a Streamlight of the front end is the night stand pistol. No boating accidents for me. If it is time to hide them--it's time to use them.

These get the most use out of my collection.

This is my SIG GSR 1911. This pistol shoots like no other. I love 1911's and anything 45.

I do want one of these CZ's though in 9mm.

My absolute favorite is my Les Baer TRS:

And a close second:

And one of my carry guns, Glock 30:

I'm like you. I play with 45s on the range but when it comes to a carry gun it's a Glock. I know a lot of people that do that. Must be something to it, eh?

I love my 1911's. They are a very well designed weapon, but yeah I carry my Glocks!!

It's either my Glock 30 as shown above or my very well used and well loved 19!!!!

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better. We want something that we know will work every time and feel insecure with anything less.

I don't keep failure prone weapons around and I have seen plenty of Glocks choke in my day. The further a Glock is from being a G17 the less reliable they seem to get.

My concession to how Glock has changed the game was in the refinishing of my carry gun, the 1911 that tops the thread. NP3 ain't as tough as tennifer, but it is "tough enough" and it is totally self lubricating. That pistol up there has never had a bobble (~17k rounds now), and except for some fine scratches in the finish from carry and bumping barricades playing IDPA it looks new. I am 100% confident in it. The other change I made was to get the reverse plug. Nothing can stay in the recoil spring area and not get chewed out of the front.

The Beretta is the "bump in the night" weapon because I like having a higher capacity for strict home defense given all of the multiple assailant home invasions I have read about over the years. It's working through its third case of ammo with no hint of a problem, which has been my experience with Beretta duty pistols NOT owned and maintained by Uncle Sugar.

The wife's M&P has been a revelation too. Then again, we weren't early adopters either.

Well, Boats, don't feel you have to explain yourself to me :D
