The favorite hand gun thread

I'm so glad to come home and find things back in order!

I also saw the NY trigger issue was covered well.

I've got a Kel-Tec P3AT in .380 that I carry as a 3rd or as a deep carry piece. I've got a DeSantis Nemesis for the pocket or deep carry. I also have the clip for carrying it in the appropriate spot as a 3rd. ;)

It works for what it's designed as.

Speakin' of guns...

The latest issue of NRA's American Rifleman magazine has a news blurb stating that SIG Sauer has secured a multi-year contract, worth $306 million, to supply the U.S. Army's Materiel Command with pistols. The article goes on to say, and I quote:

"The initial order of 55,890 units is to be released as the standard sidearm for the entire Colombian National Police force."

I'm not sure what that means... released... does it mean given or sold?

That is your tax dollars at work as materiel aid in the form of a government to government grant from us to Colombia. Free of charge.

Got to check one of these out last weekend and I was suprised. I knew it was small, but this was tiny! Hopefully I will be able to pick it up before they sell out again! Seems like it would be great for deep carry as you said.

......., Shotty hope you enjoy the 686 when I bring it down:thumbup:

I can't wait.:D

At the rate I'm going, I'll have two holsters and a few sets of grips for it by the time it gets here.;)

Oh, and by the way..... Don't forget to bring the 686 when you come down.:D

Nice stipple job on the G30 Andy. I currently have bike inner tube sleeve on mine. I do not have the guts to break out the soldering iron yet.

I might be able to accept that if my current issue wasn't a worn out, rebuilt M9, issued by the same government that's giving away all of those shiny new SIG's. :grumpy:

If you follow SIG at all since they somehow wound up with "Mimber's" former CEO, you might start feeling sorry for those Colombians.

Beretta might not care about anyone else in particular, seeing's how they have a maximum three year warranty for non governmental buyers, but they are not lemon farmers when turning a buck.;)

Egad, keep the finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to fire. Don't let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to put a hole in. Do not put your faith in mechanical safeties and a New York Trigger is a form of mechanical safety and was invented because apparently Officers in the NYPD couldn't keep their fingers outside of the trigger guards OR the powers that be in the NYPD thought it would be a good idea.

First of all, Im not some run of the mill, knucklehad, firearm owner/pretender. I have extensive experience in the use of small-arms particularly handguns. Im a certified Glock Armorer, and until I was stationed overseas again, was/am an active CCW & IDPA shooter/competitor. Im an active duty member and a Veteran with almost 20 yrs service both as an Infantryman (Army) and as USAF Security Forces (Military Police). Im no expert but I have heard a shot fired in anger, once or twice, and I do know which side of the peashooter is the dangerous end.

The purchase of the NY Trigger kit for my carry Glock's was a deliberate choice. I did not do it for the safety of the item as I find the Glock design inherently safe, assuming you are following all fundamentals. I purchased these kits as I prefer the pull and break on this particular set-up. If you looked at my gear (particularly the CCW) you would have noticed it was serious gear...not a gimp kit.

Now...Im a big fan of safety and ensuring all are aware of the protocals to ensure a pleasurable shooting experience is always a good thing. However...please refrain from using your condescending tone and preaching manner when you know not of whom/what you speak.

If I read you the wrong way, I apologize for my forward manner. Its my personality to lean into the fight...

I would get my ass beat leaning into a fight. I usually just take their picture and agree if they say their dick is bigger than mine. ;)

Sorry its more of a military expression, I guess. Means you dont back away...though tactical withdrawal is acceptable.

:D

Tactical withdrawal :D

Sounds like some serious stuff ;)

Hope this thread doesn't turn into a pecker measuring contest :D
