The "Five Amigos" (Variations on the Custom Cattle Knife)

Thanks, Brad, they mean a lot to me...I remember that you also have an affinity for the pattern. Especially every time I see that avatar. ;)

Hello to all. I'm glad the knife got a home that will cherish it. Thanks to all for your great comments.

Though not yet in hand, I'd be remiss if I didn't add Jared Oeser's fine rendition of a Diamond Edge Cattle Knife to the group presented in this thread.

The knife is 3 5/8" closed with CPM-154 blades and springs. Blades are @ 62 Rc and hand finished to 800 grit. Integral bolsters, pinned shield and all stainless hardware complete the essential info.

Weight is 3.1 ounces:

Fantastic knives. Still one of my favorite threads on BF. Always glad when it's gets bumped.

Come on, E., you need a REAL diamond inlayed in the shield! ;)

Seriously, though, you always have inspired ideas, and this one came off superbly.
Congrats to both you and Jared.

Thanks for sharing these superbly crafted knives with us Elliott. It is a such a pleasure and privilege to see them!

Thank you, gents. The pleasure is all mine.

It's been a little while since you've brought us a cattle knife, Elliott. This one is a nice riff on the traditional format. The blades are shapely - sculptural really, and the handle texture, and forms of the brightwork are mighty pleasing to the senses!
We are drifting into pure art here, though still useful.
Nice work Mr. Oeser, and good on ya, E!!!
