Cool to see that old school Woodsman!
Agreed — there’s a time when that would have scored double the current asking price. If I didn’t just land a stellar example of my own, it would already be gone. It’s a knife that a lot of people overlook as a user, but is probably one of the most versatile fiddlebacks out there...I hope this one moves fast

It’s a Classic and by the looks of it “Near Mint” .... I’ll be checking back in the morning. I can’t be doing crazy purchases. All that said I’ve done it a time or two!

Beautiful knife! Congratulations Matt. Questions for someone: What makes it "old school"? How is this Woodsman different from current version?

As the seller of the Woodsman, I agonized over how to price it. I agree that I erred on the low side, but this is a "community" page. I do need to free up some cash right now, but I did get a good deal on it when I purchased it from another member and wanted to pass along the same courtesy.

I am pretty sure that the buyer will be VERY happy with it and I am glad that it went to a true Fiddleback Fan. :)

BTW, I am posting a great Camp Nessie later tonight.

Not sure if you got the OSW or not... But there is another Woodsman (3/16"??), TT, O1 with black bolstered micarta and stabilized greenish burl wood with thick black liners for sale over on BushcraftUSA.

Thanks for the heads up on the Woodsman. I actually have one; black bolstered bocote 3/16" O1. It is not officially "old school" as it has the current spine stamp with nothing on the butt although it does have the thicker handles that Andy typically produced 4 or 5 years ago. I love the way it feels but i havent used it since i thought i might want something in 5/32" instead. I certainly dont "need" another knife, especially in that size range, but im always searching for what seems to be the perfect configuration for my needs. Since that one didnt pan out i decided to pull the trigger on an "old school" hiking buddy i had been eyeing :) I'll post some pics when i receive it, especially since it will be the 100th Fiddleback to enter my possession! Most have been passed on, some of them will always be fondly remembered or missed, but i always enjoy seeing them pop up in someones post in the Fiddleback users thread
