I wanted this one badly. I gave the Huntsman I had to my eldest son as his college acceptance present, and really wanted to replace it. There's just something about the feel and look of that bog oak that I love.

I woke up early and wasn't even out of bed when I saw it posted on my phone. Snagged it immediately.

Oh...I spent so much money this weekend! I bought the KEBushie on Friday. And now this.

I'm spending the day deciding which knives I'm posting on the Flea Market this week. I've just got to do it.

I really wanted to add it to it and say "pics or it doesn't exist!"
But alas I refrained. I have seen quite a few other makers using burlap bolsters recently... Wouldn't be surprised if the forge has but don't remember seeing it. Of course there are lots of things I don't remember...

I couldn't find the picture of it with my phone. Glad you found it! I thought it was a cool Arete! Burlap bolsters are rare for sure though.
 
Yeah, I really like the look of burlap bolsters. After seeing the pic I remembered seeing this one. Definitely a unique Fiddleback.
 
That was a sweet one someone grabbed from USAMadeblade. Rare for Fiddlebacks - I do not recall any other than that recent Arete just posted over the past couple years. You see the burlap bolsters more on Allen and Chris' knives. They can be very nice; I have a Tangerine over evergreen Osprey K&T that I think looks amazing.
 
The burlap bolsters look really good, I'd love to see more of them come out of the Forge.
 
My grail Fiddleback would be a ladyfinger or a terrasaur in denim micarta. Since I am tired of waiting and I don't know if such a thing exists or ever will exist should I pull the trigger and buy one that is close.
