I just have these two for now, a Western and a Schrade. Unless you count the Cold Steel broken skull ( stupid name imo  ) Besides the dumb name is actually a good modern rendition of this pattern. The grip profile is identical to the Schrade, although thinner. The only pic I have of it it still has the thumb stud I removed, so kinda a no go here:thumbsup:
Edit: I got the name of the Cold Steel modern version wrong, still a dumb name for a knife, but what do you expect when it was designed with input from a pro wrestler lol

I got to say I like the Western version the best out of similar options from other makers. Slimer handle, the placement if the nail nicks, that long clip secondary (California clip?):thumbsup::thumbsup:

David, quite tough to beat a Western 062. As you mentioned above, they are slimmer than most, take a wicked edge, are readily available if you shop around, and hence, are crazy cheap.

I don't know their lost secret to the bone back in the tested era but apparently it's lost forever. Seems like modern bone lacks the color and luster. Thanks for the comment
Both CASE knives actually. They make my heart hurt. As Cap't Merriweather Lewis said when he finally viewed the Pacific Ocean, "Oh, the Joy!!!"
