Both of those are satin. The third one I got is stonewash, but it is a light stonewash.

I can now see what ppl are saying about the handle being short , it’s to short for my taste with the blade size and width .. Can’t post pics from my iPhone to show comparisons for some reason (don’t kno how too)?!?!

but SHOCKED it’s smaller than the Nano handle on my Camp Mistress !!

but it is a true style Bowie (older classic Bowie variant imo) not bad at all but not what I was expecting from the drawing ..

I am concerned with now the handle on my TGS coming soon..

(Was matching the TGS with this knife but I changed the handle to green instead of Tan…I’m kinda digging the Tan /Stonewash now smh

Handle length seems good to me, but sorry to hear it wasn’t what you were hoping for.

Camp Mistress is more of a swinger… Forefather is less so, for sure (by design). I could see Forefather (handle) being able to perform well for hand at head-high arm swings (1/2 to 3/4 chop range)… but not super at hand above your ear (full swing) chop.

Not complaining but not what I expected from the computer generated outline pic .. The guard does take away some of the grips length ..but yes wrist cut delight forsure !

I’m holding it til the TGS comes and then I’ll decide if she’s a keeper

Although I don't own any TGLB's and have no experience with the double talon hole guards, I would think that the ricasso would help in control in certain situations. I wish the grip was a half inch longer, but I think a lanyard will solve that issue. But I am nitpicking. Overall, I think this is one of the best bowie style designs to come out of Busse. Love it. This knife gives me the traditional Bowie look, while being closer to a useable spear point, so I am getting mistress usability with Bowie looks.

The craftsmanship is as always great , the blade itself I love, with filler added .. I have the 9.5 alpha regulator and love it ! Your bang on with the traditional Bowie look and the swedge is fine to me as well I consider it useable !!

Boy howdy! As Happy as a <INDUCTED> HOG in slop here!!!!

The "Competition Finish" + G10 is more closer to museum quality than Competition imho. Only the lightest machining marks here and there. I was so hyped when I un-mummied it I thought I'd gotten sent a Satin by mistake!

The G10 was dry so I gave her a drink of mineral oil in the first couple of pics.

My jaw dropped further when I unwrapped the "Desert Bronze" + Black Canvas Micarta. This thing is more like "Dessert" Bronze because it is so SWEEEEEETTT!

The contrast of the dry dry canvas micarta with the sparkly desert bronze really evokes hot dry sand.

I wished I'd gotten a bronze with G10 to go with this dynamic duo!

I'm not gonna get into the balance & ergos of these 2 at this point because I honestly feel gobsmacked in the best way possible and it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to be objective at this moment!

Mannnn. I was hard core leaning toward comp but that bronze with black micarta is a looker
