The GEC Production Database Thread

I believe that some items in red are knives marked in earlier years, but not finished till later. Would that be considered a parts knife ? Even if all the parts were picked out at the time of conception.

Some of them are definitely that, yes.

I finally had a chance to ingest the 2019 totals. It definitely took some work there were quite a few missing items or mistakes. I have line items for most everything in the database but some of the totals are missing.
Here are some updated graphics and a link to the updated database.

@knifeswapper they included red sawcut and AB 77 totals but did not include the others. Do you recall the totals on those?

If anyone knows how many of the orange bone #29's were made for American Whittler (Humerick) that would be helpful

Only 12 American Whittler 29's were made. Thank you for your work keeping this updated!

I think the 27 White bone 93 Lambsfoot knives that Charlie had were left off of the production schedule.

Are the numbers for 971119 and 976119 swapped?

Brian

I thought this as well. For instance, the smooth yellow bone. Seem to be quite a few available of 976119, but production numbers only acknowledge 11 were made. The numbers from the production list for 971119 are ~890 and of the searching I done, I couldn’t find any available.

Darren, do you know the totals for these models? They were left off the totals.
Northfield 441218 autumn gold bone with satin finish
Northfield 861219 Sambar stag
Northfield 922219 Sambar stag
Northfield 922219 goldenrod camel bone

The Production Totals for 2019 definitely was odd. Look at the Tidioute 06’s. Whoever threw it together didn’t seperate the one and two blade 06’s correctly. They should be broken out under different tang stamp numbers. Also, Notice the two blade Northfield white bone 06’s for some reason say cloud shield. That was not true; those had the crest shield. Why even mention the shield? Shields have never been mentioned in any of the previous lists.

This 2019 list is now 14 pages instead of 7. For some reason they repeated the list twice.

Exactly. I have a "976119 Smooth Yellow Rose Bone" and I can't believe it is 1 of 11. If it is I will kick myself for making it a user.

Why is the Northwoods Madison Barlow listed as Pattern #44? In 2018 #44 was the Buffalo Jack.

I did find that early versions of the Madison Barlow were named the "#44 Madison Barlow".

I'm so confused. ;) The Madison Barlow and the Buffalo Jack have nothing in common other than I love them both.

Cheers, Brian

NW seemed to have a different numbering system. For the purpose of my database, I left it in there if GEC included it with the production totals.

I usually keep track of things in the database as they happen and was able to decode most of that luckily. I know there was some transition at GEC this year so I figure that has a lot to do with it.

There were a bunch of SFAs this year and I don't know all the shields...I might have to dig through the rendezvous thread if I want to keep track. It looks like a lot of them are represented in the totals.

Thanks, Darren. Makes sense.

My best guess (emphasis of guess!) is the Madison Barlow is built on the #43 frame.
