How much was the RAT RC-4?

Don't have the numbers in front of me but ESEE offers a pretty sweet military discount. You can get any of them up to and including the 5 and 6 for under 100 dollars. Email Patricia at ESEE from your .mil account and she'll hook you up.

(Edit: just checked, 75 bucks for the 4)

I gotta be honest. I have an LMF. It is very cool. But I don't think the steel is great due the difficulty in getting it as sharp as I'd like.

However, hearing that a fair number of the men and women serving our country overseas and in war zone like it, for whatever reason, makes me like mine more.

Thanks for bringing this information to the forum. I always wondered if anybody in service used it. I mean one knows that KaBars and in use and all kinds of folders.

So my LMF is my vehicle toolbox where it will be handy for hard use. If my nephew goes back to wherever (spend 1 year Iraq already) I'll give it to him if he needs it. I'd be proud for him to use it.

I ordered these back in May 2009 and I paid $130 + S&H to Toronto for the RC-4. I bought the Izula at the same time. These were ordered the day I received the RC-6. As soon as I saw the quality on the RC-6 I immediately ordered the 4 and Izula.
I'm pretty sure you can find them cheaper than that now.

"LMF" If you like it ,Then its GOLD!
I have one in my 4x4 recovery bag . Its great for that sort of thing.
For military service i take a Eickhorn G,E,K 2000.

Yeah its a great knife to take a beaten. First off it doesn't break easy. You can use it for all the things that you wouldn't do with a beautiful Buck or Bark River. I mean you can't make it any uglier.

strange is that the pictures show different grinds ...( although its supposed to be full flat )and the type of steel used is not mentioned anywhere

you can trust me when I say this my friend, the lmf 2 is a trully dependable knife that wont fail you when the time comes, mine saved my life on a kayaking trip about two years back, if I didnt have my lmf 2 strapped to my leg that day when I went out I wouldnt be here today, you wont be disapointed

I know that the LMF-II is not a particularly good knife, but that hasn't stopped me from wanting one. Most if not all of my knives are more capable, but I was still very impressed by the feel of the LMF-II when I held one for the first time this summer.
