The good.....list the custom makers

Also it looks bad to me to have a thread like this, kind of says knife makers are a bunch of crooks.
When really most all of them are stand up guys, just a few make them look bad.

I think this could be a real risk as well. As far as I can tell there are comparatively very few negative threads about knife makers here and I couldn't stress strongly enough that I wouldn't hesitate to buy from just about any of them. To avoid any possible negative misconceptions I've updated my earlier post to comment on the specific things I liked about the particular makers I've had the pleasure of dealing with.

Enjoy looking mate; I have no doubt you'll be very happy with what you find!!

Bill Siegle is great to deal with he was one of my first trades here and he didn't treat me like a stupid noob. I hear many great things about his work and he is helpful and participates greatly in this community.

In no particular order:

Kevin Tupper
Bill Siegle
Michael Morris
Christopher Berry (Big Chris)
Casey Bradshaw
Jim Allen (Three Sisters)
Mike and Sue Grayman (Grayman Knives)
Daniel Fairly

Sorry if I forgot anyone

Daniel Winkler has to be one of my favorites, and as someone mentioned, Jim Allen of Three Sisters Forge. In a world with so many great knife makers, they still manage to stand out.

My personal list of makers I've got knives from (direct from the maker) through Bladeforums, actual user name as it appears here followed by real name etc.:

- waterstoneblades (Matt)

- DanGraves

- HardEdgeKnives (Kelley Ward)

- rjfm1972 (RMOK Knives, Rick)

- Austin Goldman

- AF (Aaron Freeman)

- Hankins (Robert Hankins)

- Steve Vanderkolff

- SRG Knives (Justin)

That's it for me. All have been excellent to deal with.

Thanks man!

So sorry but anyone has a recommendation for a maker that commissions your own designs and is currently taking orders? I would like to commission a flipper. Thanks in advance :)
