The Great 8

Schrade Walden 880 Kon-Kav

Jeff, the 880 is one I don’t have....yeto_O

This walden 8ot will forever be remembered by the stench it had when it first arrived in the mail. Very bizarre. Naming knives is not something that I really do but the name 'ol stinky is just so fitting, even long after the smell is gone. The knife itself is not a stinker.

I’m almost afraid to ask, but what did it stink like? Was it stored in a box with chemicals or something

When I get an old knife in the mail I take a sniff; sometimes there are interesting old pipe tobacco aromas. I always offer the knife to Jenny the schnauzer for approval. Sometimes she is interested as well. Sometimes not. I can smell 1095 from at least a few inches away.

Paul, did you get another one or something you’ve had? Either way, it’s a good looking knife. The lighter color is interesting.

I've had that one a little while. It's the one that somebody monkeyed with and I fixed the swedge on the main blade and cleaned it up a little. Still not sure if I want to leave it as is or force a patina and use it.
