A few years ago, I shared some images here of a little utility fixed blade I'd designed and hoped to have made for me by Imacasa. However, they bafflingly considered it too similar to the Condor Bombus (it's radically different!) and declined my request as a result. That ended up being for the best, because it ultimately led to me finding a way to get it produced right here in the USA. I was determined to get the design to market one way or another, and I did a bit of digging around to find a way of getting them done up, resulting in the final product you see here: an American-made knife done with a full flat grind in 1095 at 58 RC at a reasonable price point probably not too far off from what it would have cost to have made out of country!

I've been using one of the pre-production prototypes for everything, and it's an absolute joy to use. It was envisioned as a compact do-all that would be comfortable without the need for any handle wrap or scales, but readily able to be outfitted with either, and scale kits will be available in the near future. The oval handle is designed to nestle into the hollow of the palm, which allows it to be comfortable, secure, and versatile in terms of hand holds without requiring a large handle. It's at home in the woods, in the workshop, on a job site, or around the house performing petty tasks. I'm immensely pleased to be finally bringing it to market!

Right on the main page, front and center, under "New Items" and under Baryonyx Knife Co. brand products in the "Knives & Tools" section. :)

lol, not sure how I missed it the first time. I searched the name and didn't find it, but maybe I typoed it. Just ordered one, will give it a try. Thanks.

FortyTwoBlades FortyTwoBlades , why is it that yours is the only website where I want to buy at least two of (nearly) everything? Also, is this going to be a regularly stocked item, or do you have a finite number of batches?

The first production run was a whopping 975x units in total, so there's plenty to go around! 60x of which were kept in unmarked state as a limited release because our manufacturing partner pulled a whoopsie and sent them all out to us unmarked, so we had to send them back to get lasered like they were supposed to be and decided to keep a few of 'em "naked". Those probably won't make a reappearance, but I do fully intend to have more of the marked ones produced when the first run is gone. :)

The reason for releasing them in batches of 50x at a time is so we don't get flooded with an unmanageable number of orders like we did with the Kingfisher Machetes, which we're STILL filling orders for on a daily basis because something like 80% of folks ordered them with Special Grade edge work and we've only got one grinder! The first run of those was 500x so you can imagine the kind of logjam that makes when having to keep up with regular non-preorder work alongside it. No one wants that, least of all me! But when a project gets rolling, you can't stop it and these have arrived, so out they go -- we just have to keep the rate at a trickle for now so we don't get any more swamped than things already are. :p

When do you think you'll have the handle kits? Looks like a great utility cutter, especially with the handles for my "delicate hands". ;)

Hard to say exactly 'cause these things have a way of drawing themselves out longer than one would initially anticipate, but I have a manufacturing partner all lined up for it and just need to earmark some capital for it, then we'll be off to the races. Black Richlite would be the most economical choice, but I'm thinking a light brown would be nice--the black locust scales looked nicer with it than I had anticipated.

Sigh, I don’t need this. But ordered one of the unmarked ones. Got the special grade as well.

They look really nice, can’t wait to receive it.
