The "hall of meat"... (Graphic Injury Pics)

After reading this thread I was some what upset because of most of my knife injuries were before cell phones and my first priority was to stop bleeding and not to take a picture so I figured I would change that :D..So today at work I was having a conversation with a guy about how if my blade wasn't sharp enough to shave, then I was satisfied. Not even 15 minutes later I pull out my Paramilitary 2 and was sitting and cutting tape. Well sure enough I dropped my knife and first reaction was to close my legs to catch it just like a phone or anything else. With like 15 minutes of shift left, this happened..

My boss (female) started freaking out thinking I cut my artery lol but being a country boy I sure enough was very calm and was going to leave a butterfly stitch on it until I got home. It just kept bleeding and basically ruined my uniform but the butterfly wouldn't stay. I was in the bathroom at work and several people came in and I had my pants down tending to myself, but for some of the guys it was an awkward situation. I ended up wrapping up a paper towel and used masking tape to hold it to my leg. I ended up walking about a quarter mile to my truck and drove myself to the hospital. I was joking around with the dr. about how my wife would have a field day saying "that's what you get for playing with knives" he was pretty cool about it and told me not to worry about coming back if I didn't need to & told me to take the 4 stitches out if I wanted.

Few action shots:

Overall I will still carry a knife, and I will continue to use it because it's what I love. I'm sure everyone at work with have something to say about me bringing a knife back to work. It only went into my leg about an inch and a quarter. Had I had a stitch kit at home I would've just done it there myself, no big deal.

This happened a few months ago prepping food with my military, went down to bones and required 7 stitches.

Haha it's me again. Ridiculously unimpressive cut from an even more ridiculously unimpressive knife...

Didn't notice the cut until blood started staining my work pants!

No pics but about a year ago I trimmed 1/8 of an inch or so off my little toe when I stubbed it against my broad axe.

OH! I hope you heal well and soon.

I got a lecture again (yet again) today with my Spyderhawk, just after saying "whoa, I hope I never draw blood like that guy who posted on the Meat thread the other day.
Not a big deal, but a couple hours later my blood was already on the carpet.

Went straight through the nail right along the bone, now that was fun. ;)

You know how most people have catching instinct?
You throw anything at them and they will instinctively try to catch it?

Well, not me, after all this years handling sharp knives, my instinct is always jump or duck out of the way of falling/flying sharp objects!
At that moment, I don't care if blade gets damaged or broken from hitting ground!

That's why I can't play professional sports that require catching flying balls!

Now, regarding getting cut stupidly!

I was "training" my hands muscle memory to open and close SD knives kept on the night stand in the dark with eyes closed.
Like if you wake up still groggy half asleep in middle of night and there is an intruder in the apartment!

I was practicing with new BM710, Fatcat and Tomcat 3.0 and wasn't used to Axis/Arc locks,
they open fast but close even faster, if holding lock open and flick blade closed!

Anyway, one of them not sure which one, I suspect it was Fatcat, bit me deep near fingernail on middle finger, ouch!
Even before I felt wetness, I knew it was a deep cut to the bone!

If you have ever cut yourself with razor sharp hollow ground edge, you know what I'm talking about!

Bleeding would not stop for 10 minutes, I used peroxide and iodine to clean it and then taped it up with cotton and band aid!
Because cut was so clean and straight it healed up without leaving a scar!

Lesson learned, I no longer play in the dark with any knife that has Axis/Arc lock, assisted opening or switchblades!

Just a littel lovebite my small sebbie gave me[emoji52]

Did cut a small bloodvessel, and luckily missed a tendon. Few internal and external stitches, and fine a few days later

The ER doc did ask me if it was a sharp knife..... 'Because it is a very clean cut, it'll heal nicely'
He didnt believe it wasnt a stanley knife, untill i showed him my sebenza[emoji39]
