The Handy 112

Only that sheath was not made for the 112. It was made for the Alpha Hunter model 277. Buck makes a brown sheath for the 112. It looks like a 110 style brown leather sheath. Nice photo. DM

The PaperStone 112 is a nice light weight model. I like that the dimensions are the same. I'm okay with the finger grooves, but I could have lived without them too.

I also have a PaperStone 112 and carry it a lot. I like the lighter weight in my pocket. I did sand down the edges around the perimeter of the handle and the finger grooves on mine. Made it a little more comfortable in the hand, and looks pretty much the same.

My wife bought me a 112 last year for Christmas for use at work. I used to carry a 110 everyday but found out because of its length that it was illegal to carry in the city I work in (Seattle) so the 112 was the perfect alternative.

Sportingspecialist did you put the Sambar Stag on that 112? That is one that I would love to have. Have always wanted a 112 in Stag and also one in Buffalo Horn. Thanks for posting.

There are some really nice knives here, thank you to all that posted here. These are some that where offered at the 20 year event. Rams horn, and Elk.
With brass frames, and three dot blades.

This is the only picture that I can find of them at this time. HL

I really wish I would have grabbed one with the ram horn when it was available.

This is a current production available from copperandclad.

The one I own is serial #057.

Brownwm don't feel bad I am wishing that I had bought more of them. I had two but am down to one, do to someone that had been there, and that I had told them they needed to get one and blew them off then felt they had to have one. Go figure, and it has happened more than once. Oh well easy come easy go. HL

For big game hunting I prefer the Buck 110, but for small game, turkey, and hiking I prefer the 112 - here is my old 112 with a spring gobbler and the Bucklite version on a recent hike. As for carrying, I am strictly a belt sheath carrier - 110, 112, or Bucklite. OH

I like the 112 too. Here's one I sent to Leroy to have old style finger grooves, new scales and a BG-42 blade. Preston

I usually carry one daily. Today I had this on me. I would've loved this knife so much more in wood, but I always enjoy it.

thunder, I like mine too. I may have liked handles with wood. I really would have preferred canvas micarta. Still, it's a very handsome 112. DM

Hey DM, I wanted to show this off to you: I grabbed a couple of the nickel/cherry 112's off the Buck site & I'm real glad I did. I can't say enough about it. Love nickel and the 112's are ordinarily brass only from the plant.

I've had a weird relationship with the 112. Bought a nice but used one at an antique store. Used it for a while,
then sold it at a profit. Missed it immediately. Then recently I scored a 2-dot used one -- in much worse shape. Had a broken tip, so I ground the blade into a drop point. Sharpened up great and still locks up solid.

Nice knife and good job with the broken tip.

If I'm not mistaken that is a three dot 112.
