The Handy 112

I'm surprised they don't offer NS bolsters this in the custom shop. This looks great!

Only that sheath was not made for the 112. It was made for the Alpha Hunter model 277. Buck makes a brown sheath for the 112. It looks like a 110 style brown leather sheath. Nice photo. DM

Thanks! You are correct, I forgot I bought that sheath from Buck after the fact. Now I wonder what I did with the sheath that came with the 112.

This would be my first post in this forum. Picked up a 112 in 5160 and I don't think I have been living my life right. I can't believe it took me so long to get on this bandwagon. I'm so in love.

Welcome. Nice knife.

Welcome. It is a nice knife, isn't it? I got my first Buck, a 110, in the mid 1960's. I still have that knife and it is still as tight as the day I received it, though I dare say it has a few more scars.

I will have this one until I lose it or die I'm sure.

Awesome pics guys. Got a micarta one on the way which I will post a pic of when I receive it. BTW - any of you have an older leather sheath for the 112 you want to sell?

It is my duty as moderator to remind one and all to not sell or attempt to buy anything on the general Buck forum. Someone with a Dealer's class membership may discuss products they are selling but may not list prices or offer direct sales from the Buck forum. New members unsure of their forum actions may inquire at the FAQ section at the Blade Forum main directory or you may get good info from link I provide at bottom of my postings.

Another to join the party: A 422 Bucklite I just acquired.

I honestly wasn't expecting much from this knife and I'm not a big fan of plastic handles. But after cleaning and sharpening, it's a keeper for sure. Feels nice in the hand and has good balance.

It only has one dot in the date code - to the right of the model number. Not sure what that means...???

Buck Knife Date Codes.
There is some additional coding for knives made between 1974 - 1986:
1974 - 1980: one dot on either side of the model # (example: .110.)
1980: two dots on the right side of the model # (example: .110..)
1981 - 1986: two dots on either side of the model # (example: ..110

Roamad, not sure of the date, but I have a circa 1984 with the one dot. If anyone knows it will be ITE - post your knife in the Bucklite and Selectors thread, he'll answer your questions on that knife. OH

Its ITEs area but, I think it possibly means a product change of some type. It is a temporary marking that is stopped at some point. Maybe when all old stock is out of the factory. I swear we talked about this not long ago. Maybe do a search for "Production change marks" or something along those lines. 300

As of yet, I don't have any Bucklites. I believe that should be on my "get" list. Yours is a really nice example and I like the color.
Nice 112s, all! I see that I'm in good company.
