That is crazy! Those are some awesome pics. You should have posters of those things up in your garage.

Wowcoop you certainly get your money's worth on those tires, you use all of the tire when you lean so far over into those turns. Spectacular pictures!

sadly that was twenty four years ago, I've had Racer's Depression ever since....... the road is just not the same, but it's all tucked away in my memory, and I can always close my eyes and go for a lap when ever I want......those were just amateur club races, but it was pretty cool while it lasted, nice to be young and foolish... on the tires, we used to say if your not pushing the front tires to slide off the corner your just not running fast enough!!

Wow - Coop! that is some cool stuff. I've done some racing (1/4 mile drag) nothing like that unless of course things go bad and you start dodging the other car or the wall.
I thought maybe you were running away from the Photographer that wanted his Proofs Back :D

I am envious (in a way) of those who ride bikes, I gave them up after I crashed one in Urban Warfare School and spent a month in an Army Hospital (ya wanna talk about fear and horror, the Hospital I mean) Now I stick to 4 wheels and a big steel box (coward) to get me around.
Thanks for those pics - very cool.

I Dont Blame You at all Rubi.....we've had a particularly bad summer in my district with M/C accidents, several of our members are selling their bikes now...I always thought I'd be amune to that but I'm actually thinking of all the nasty crashes I've seen and heard and had...and when I look at my wife and Know that when I ride i'm going to top out what ever I'm on,(just my nature, can't help it) I realize its not fair to her or the local EMS to do it..... Hell I crashed my MTB two weeks ago doing Bike Unit EMS, at the county fair and wiped out my knee and elbow (we were going to an Bee Sting with an allergic reaction, they were fine by the way) , kind of embarrassing when the local Cheif sends you to the Med Tent with the worst Trauma of the day, So his newbies can practice bandaging on you....I had to proctor an aid station using my own Knee injury! Thats when you know its time for some self restraint! soo a steel box with wheels is not a bad way to go!

Raising my three(3) Boys to be Men, I have tried to teach them many things that IMO make a Man a Man ( lots of male human beings these days - however, Men are in short supply).
One of those things is knowing ones weaknesses and trying to minimize the effect on those around you - especially those you are responsible for and to.
I have many weaknesses.
I try every day to make sure my short comings don't cause those around me to suffer - avoiding speed, racing, drinking and driving, running with scissors, getting out of my truck when a punk flips me off, etc. etc.
ALL things I did when I was younger and didn't have the weight on my shoulders I currently have :)

The list of lessons is long and the mentoring has been my greatest calling that God has tapped me on the shoulder and told me to "Do this and try not to mess it up".
So, my opinion of Bikes? Love them! Do I ride (on the street anymore? Not a chance because selfishly I say WHEN (not IF) the inevitable happens - I might just survive it and that is my greatest fear of riding these days.
Sorry for the Big Pooper (to anyone who is saying, "Wow Rubi You are a Big Pooper") :)

All things being said, it is hard to deny the total sense of freedom derived by the perfect harmony created between man and machine, those moments when thought instantly becomes reaction via hands, fingers, feet, and gears. Unleashing immense horsepower created by fire and mechanical leverage, the whir of a cam over bucket valve train and the feel of the atmosphere pressing against ones face as it struggles to get out of the way.... ok so where is that Kawasaki manual anyway....

Rubi I know exactly where you are coming from, seen the aftermath of bike meets car, usually the results very bad. That being said I believe when your number is up it doesn't matter if you are sitting home reading BF or tooling down Rt 5&20 through the scenic Cherry Valley. Bad things happen without reason.

So Wowcoop captures the essence of why I ride. The freedom it affords, the undenyable connection between man and machine, exhiliarating w/o spitting out 600 rds per minute.

Am I concerned, every time I swing my leg across the seat and hit play!

Thx FO, and Rubi, that is kind of where I was trying to take this.... It is both a privilege and a great responsibility, and Rubi I would never, call you a "POOPER"! Professor maybe ( and respectfully so) but never "Pooper".
