The Hinderer no one is talking about!

It's not different enough from what he already offers to be very compelling. It's also not that visually compelling compared to the MP1 and Halftrack. Even the good old XM series is sleeker and more appealing.

It may be one of those designs you have to hold to understand, but at Hinderer prices, many will miss out.

I'm waiting on the Viper Knives Hinderer collab too. I believe they are making a rendition of the halftrack.

One thing holding me back, which may seem weird, is how plain the lockside is. They at least need to have "Hinderer" on their like the XM-18. Too much void space.

I have to agree with many of these posts. The Juraissic is kinda boring - looks like another XM variant. I wish he would do something more along the lines of the MP-1, which i have and love. The MP-1 is noticeably different then the XM.

The ergonomics on this J model, look great! How's the flipping action?

+1 Whitty's picture of this awesome blue J beauty, definitely has me taking a second look.

With so many exceptional, high quality American made knives to choose from, I for one will not purchase one of those foreign made framelocks you're referring to, RD. Never have, never will!

It's the exact same reason why I chose to buy a brand new Ford pickup, made in Dearborn, Michigan. I'd rather support American companies whom employ American worker's- it's a no brainer!
The toyota camry has more domestic parts than a ford f-150.

You're right, the lock side is strangely sterile.

The MP-1 is definitely differerent. It has some beautifully executed machine work that makes it nice to look at and hold.

XM variant. I'd like to try one and would consider trading for one but it isn't a knife I have to have.

To me, the XM 18 3.5" is just about perfect and it would be hard to surpass it.

I think you are right about this. Hopefully as more get out to the market and people get them in their hands the understanding of it will increase. This too was the case with a lot of people when the ZT0456 came out.

I actually agree but it does leave room to do some cool stuff with anodizing and engraving for the future:).

I think there are two things, similar to what others have said that have not inclined me to pick one up as of yet. First, the ridiculous (IMO) reptilian scales that came out on the initial runs just do not interest me at all. But then, second when released with the standard Hinderer textured scales it became harder to see that much separated it from the XM other than some stylistic decisions about the handle shape. I could be wrong about that, I'd have to have it in hand to really know.

I do like how the curved handle presents the blade to the work, and I do like the broad, flat ground spear point. I think I'd be even more interested in it though, if it were in the standard XM 3.5 model. But we'll see. I kinda feel the same way about the MP1 blade as well. I'd love to see that blade in an XM handle. Though in the case of the MP1 the handle is different enough to where it feels like its own beast a bit more than the Jurassic. But really, I'd have to handle one. Wouldn't be surprised if, once I got it in hand I loved it. Thought definitely not one with the dragonscales.

I'd be interested if there was a non flipper version. Looks like a cool knife too me. I just don't like flippers.

whitty whitty Any chance you could do a measurment of the Jurassic's thickness behind the edge and compare that with a 3.5" XM? I'd be very interested in seeing how they compare, give how much broader the Jurassic's blade is.

Thanks!!

The Half track has really grown on me, I've been carrying it since I got it. WHat a perfect little knife. You were not kidding Scott, I saw your video about the quest you went on to find the perfect knife. I can see why you were so pleased with this version.
