I will agree with others, the B8 is a LOT more nimble than one would expect based on the size and thickness. I'm planning to spend a week up in the Boundary Waters at the end of May with my brother and some of his friends, and I'm pretty certain that this is the knife that's going with me.

I thought about buying both handles, but I'm just not a fan of the tan Res-c with a Satin blade. It's not that it's bad, but I just strongly prefer the black.

ETA: The 3 samples I have all weigh 364g +/- 0.5g (12.8oz). Length is 8 1/8" handle to blade tip (13 3/16" OAL).

my #19 is here, finally....
I think I found my perfect "allrounder". It has an awesome feel in the hand, and chokes up well. The blade width is PERFECT, and the belly is lovely...:D

I really love my ergos, and how they feel in the hand, but when weight could be an issue nothing beats the basics, IMHO.
...maybe it's time for a hunt for a B10...
...will do some better pics...this one is quite shaky...

Congrats ikkyo. Looking foreward myself to getting my B-8 and to compare it to my SH-E...;) Can see from your pic that you got an original SH-E sheath, wouldnt insert a satin finish knife like the B-8 into that one, as it wil scratch it up badly- just sayin.:D

Thanks Rag'rok,

This sheath was at hand, I plan to get or a Combat Master Long, or some leather for it...I don't mind scratches, I don't plan selling it, and it's destined as a user...:-)
The SHe has it's magic in hand, but the B8 beats it when it comes to practicality(weight)...it feels more nimble and more controllable for finer tasks.
...but both are here to stay. :)

Finally got around to a down and dirty basement pic. :o

Now to get one of them out along with that crazy steel hart and cause some damage.:D

Agree with you, the SHe is an awesome knive, specially with it`s assym. grind, but my guess is that the B-8 will outchop it...Time will tell.:D
