I won the supposedly FIRST DogFather in the "name the blade" contest years ago. I had some oak scrap boards from a cabinet maker and I was going to take some pics for the Yard forum; trouble was every time I tried to "stick" the knife into the board for pics it split the board! It is truly a classic!;)

How's the edge retention as far as chopping purposes go? I have no illusions as to the fact that this is a chopper and basher, not slicer.

I'd like to own a dogfather cg someday. Anyone have experience?

And that HOGB8↑ :)

They Bite DEEP

...and the edge does pretty good at staying sharp. This one has since been convexed, but I think the factory v-edge on the scrapyard's SR77 resisted deformation better than the NMFBM I had when cutting the same materials. SR-101 holds a slicing edge better, but for impact resistance, the Dogfather has got it going on!!!

The Dogfather is a BEAST at .275" thick!!! I'd LOVE to see what 8" of Infi that thick could destroy.:D

Use to have a Dogfather, but its gone, but still got the SonOfDogfather. Pic showing my tan SOD with other relatives. It has a beefy blade and shops like a beast:

MMMmmmmmm.... Res-C and 3 flavors of steel!!!

Nice pic Rags! And don't let that Shopping SOD get out of hand, you'll need the money for the HOGB8 when it goes up.;)

Went into my backyard today to compare my SOB to my Basic-8, but it shortly got to dark and the pics was no good all of them but this, be back some other day...
