Late August along the Nooksack near the Canadian border. Half the river course is exposed now as snow melt slows to a trickle, the first autumn color appearing. Bears are getting fat on blueberries, and the bucks and bulls are feeling itchy—now in their antlers, and soon…elsewhere. I love this time.

Yes sir--JUST right! Talked with our daughter who evacuated from Corpus Christi, TX this morning with her husband. Our thoughts and prayers are with those folks on the Texas coast tonight--and over the next several days. Bad moon.
 
It looks like a bad weekend for Corpus Christi. We're getting a lot of rain all the way over here in East Podunk, and the center of the storm's not supposed to get here until next Wednesday.
