Dang. Missed a nice plain edge spydercard on the exchange. I have a serrated one but I hate serrations.

So I really love Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. Found out recently it was actually a remake of a 1987 film starring Scott Glenn so I'm watching the original on amazon right now.

If they ever do a biopic of David Carradine, Scott Glenn should get the nod. I always got those two confused. Although Scott is still alive....

The end result of the bbq sauce. Made pulled pork then stuffed it into a potato topped it with havarti and Colby jack cheese.

Cook yourself a large flank steak, pan-fried in salted butter. Eat that, put on a pair of wet socks and go to sleep.

That's a little tid-bit from Nick Offerman.

I started watching Parks and Rec reruns a few weeks ago. Damn that is a funny show.

The wife has been ill this weekend. The youngest still has a cast on his arm. It falls to me to get him ready for the shower.

Wife bought a bag with a gasket to slip over his arm to protect the cast at one of the Wals (Mart or Greens - not sure).

Only problem was they only had adult sizes.

Knowing there was a trick to making it work, I asked what I needed to do.

The answer? "Grab a rubber band and some painter's tape."

Words I never thought I'd hear in relation to a shower.

I was on the phone with Ethan while making the sauce this morning. He gave me a pretty yummy sounding gravy recipe for turkey gravy.

Sweet deal. My wife has used her Joy of Cooking cookbook a few times. She loves it. She said there wasn't any sense in buying it if she wasn't gonna use it.

"If you run into an @$$hole in the morning, you ran into an @$$hole. If you run into @$$holes all day, you're the @$$hole."

I love Justified.

dinner was stuffed acorn squash - cut squash into 1" thick rings with lg Becker kitchen knife.
lay squash in a lightly greased and thoroughly bread crumbed 9x13 pan
fill with wild rice/sausage stuffing (3 kinds of rice, quinoa, minced onion, minced mushroom, balsamic vinegar, salt, garlic powder, crumbled sausage -- while grains are boiling, saute everything else up in a medium sized wok until thoroughly cooked, add cooked grains and simmer for 5 min before adding to squash)
cover with shredded parmesan
cover pan with foil and bake at 350F for an hour.
omnomnomnom......

Damn that sounds excellent. I love acorn squash with just butter, cinnamon and sugar too. ;)

me, too.
another good one is fresh peach or apricot halves set in muffin cups filled with a small dollop of butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar -- then baked.
