The Inkosi Appreciation Thread

Given your line of work, how often do you need to touch up the edge on that inkosi?
This Magna cut one still sports the fantastic edge from the factory! I usually touched up the S45VN one every couple weeks on the fine sharpmaker, probably stropped on cardboard twice during that.

I keep coming here hoping to hear shinyedges shinyedges telling me just how right I was?!
Well i got home a little while ago and opened it up. Turns out Silverstonev8 Silverstonev8 packed a spyderco tenacious in the inkosi box!

lol im kidding. It's awesome. I immediately started modding it. It's definitely different than the sebenza in many ways.

I would love to hear why they are the best. Opine
Why the blade style vs clip point?
How’s the comfort of the finger grooves?
Opening and closing differences
If you could only have one, is this it vs the other CRK styles.
I obviously carry a small Sebenza but it’s the second one I’ve ever handled. First was probably 15yrs ago.
Throw in the umnumzaan while yer at it. It’s very interesting too but you can’t handle them.
Not in stores near you!

It’s not a real quick answer. Let’s start with the blade shape

The Insingo is considered by many, me included, to be a most versatile EDC profile. Nice long straight-ish cutting edge with just enough belly to slice well. The tip isn’t as delicate or fine as a drop points but still very serviceable and more user friendly being more in the centerline of the knife. It’s a real utility blade.

Now to the knife.

The inkosi itself is just amazing no matter which of the three blade styles.
It is a more robust knife in build and feel but not so much it pockets badly.

Very large washer’s surrounding a larger stronger pivot give the knife a smoothness that’s on par with a sebbie or better.

The finger groves were designed by a guy that should have done the design for Gaston Glock as they are perfect for everyone I’ve talked to.

The thumbstuds are in a bit different place making the knife easier to open and the lock bar scalop is beautiful to unlock and close the knife.

Take all of this with the machine quality and tolerances of a Sebenza with all the years of refinement that went into the 25, tweed it just a bit and you have the culmination of Chris Reeve design and manufacturing. His last project…

If I could only have one CRK it would be the one in my pocket.

Sorry that’s kinda rushed and jumbled but my Mrs is giving me the “ your done for a while look”

If I could find a large DP WC Inkosi I’d be able to be all up in here appreciating the heck out of it!

I’ll see myself out until my search is complete. 😂🤣

(Shameless begging here, folks.)
