The Inkosi is a breeze to take down and put back together compared to all the others you mentioned. I like that aspect a lot.So I think the Inkosi may have ruined my plans and direction for a small collection I’m putting together.
I’ve decided to put a group of PJ users together as a work carry rotation and the first came in today. A beautiful L21 Insingo…It’s just not the knife my Insingo is.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing knife. It’s everything think when you hear Sebenza. it’s just that after carrying and using an Inkosi for work the 21 feels like a work in progress , an incremental step in the evolution of the finished product that the Inkosi is.
I still have a 25 and a 31 inbound so I’ll assemble the group and see what I think but at this point I can not see leaving the house with the 21 when there is an Inkosi and a Zaan on my dresser…

No I’m sure it’s not broken in yet. It’s not so much the action, it’s hard to explain really. The Inkosi just feels ….different, more sold and stout.I haven’t tried an Inkosi, so I cannot relate, but your post made me wonder if your L21 was broken in yet. I feel a nicely broken in sebenza is a very different experience than a new one.
Maybe I’d understand if I had an Inkosi, but I’m avoiding that rabbit hole. I don’t want to buy a bunch of new knives in one weekNo I’m sure it’s not broken in yet. It’s not so much the action, it’s hard to explain really. The Inkosi just feels ….different, more sold and stout.
I’m not explaining it well…
NO YOU DONT!!!Maybe I’d understand if I had an Inkosi, but I’m avoiding that rabbit hole. I don’t want to buy a bunch of new knives in one week![]()
The insingo blade has the thinnest tip and perhaps overall geometry of any Sebenza. The tanto is the thickest, while the drop point is somewhere in between. I believe your 31 is a drop point? Maybe the meatier grind and ceramic lock up will warm your heart. If not, at least you'll know where you stand on the issue. So I think the Inkosi may have ruined my plans and direction for a small collection I’m putting together.

I have to make myself carry a 21. The 25/Inkosi and Umnumzaan are excellent work knives that give me enough confidence that whatever I do with one, I don’t have to worry about the knife. A 21, even though it’s capable of most everything I need to do, doesn’t give me that warm fuzzy feeling. I’ve been carrying this 31 since I got it and had to make it a user. Of course, it’s a lot better to look at that the others, but so far it’s doing a good job.So I think the Inkosi may have ruined my plans and direction for a small collection I’m putting together.

We are on the same page with the Zaan and Inkosi. I have a 25 inbound and am real excited to see what it’s about.I have to make myself carry a 21. Completely got side tracked , forgot to post the Inkosi.

It was only 6! And I sold one and gave another away…lol. I’ll get you some pics in the am my friend.Inkosi fans! Could I ask you to snap a couple of Inkosi photos? You know how we commonly see lock engagement photos on sale threads? I'd love to see a large drop point and a large insingo from this perspective, but what I'm really interested in is the blade as it appears behind the choil. That angle gives a cross section of the plunge grind, if that makes sense. For example, here's a similar pic of a Sebenza. If only I knew someone around here who recently bought like ten CRKS.
