The Junglas Machete

heh, ontario has a lot more knives and contracts than the rtak. Also, RAT's not in the practice of trying to drive others out of business. We don't even have an official price yet, so debating it is a little premature. But really, Everything else they've put out is well priced, so I don't see any reason to question them on this one. Saying that they should price it even with the $95 rtakII is a little crazy, considering the quality advantages.

Any word on the a set shipping date yet ? Im in for a Junglas and machete. In the end an object is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

And the sheath...

And the warranty...

And the fit and finish...

And the heat treat...

...........

;)

Totally agree.

Just me talking, this isn't official word, but the Junglas should come in quite a bit lower than $200.

I would expect around the $175 mark.

And the sheath is freaking fantastic by the way, both the standard kydex and the available upgraded nylon version from Lost Mountain Iron Works.

If it's the MSRP, I guess sellers will lower the price a little.

Considering the Browning competition chopper to have a MSRP of 150$, this price is honest.

I want one... and I want to get it convex. :D

the edge or the whole thing. i think a fully convexed blade would be mean!

I was expecting street price from $160-$180, so $175 is in that realm. However, I do not care what the price is. When I have the money I am picking one up. I think all of RAT Cutlery is affordable, though, for what you get. It really isn't just a knife. You get a awesome sheath, as well as the warranty, as well as USA made (Junglas, at least, not sure on the LITE Machete) as well as the privilege of it being a RAT Cutlery blade. :)

Lol. I'm in on the one of everything club. I didn't plan on getting the lite, but how can I not? That handle just looks too comfy. Mmmm imagine how much crap a survival sheath for that thing could hold.... You could toss a 2 d maglite in and still have room...

I think we can all be down to hit the lotto ;)

That would just make it awesome. Of course, I would share my wealth with my RAT brethren :p

ok so when TheGame hits the lottery the junglas' are on him!!:D:eek::D:eek::D and i am down for winning the lottery too! :D

Of course I'd buy everyone a Junglas. First things first, though. Need to get lucky and hit that lottery  ;)

I will also likely convex the edge on this, albeit it not right away I will use the original edge, than when it needs to be sharpened I will use the convex sharpening method. Overtime, she will become a wonderful convexed blade.

All I can say is I have a junglas and after paying for preorder hold status, item, and express shipping I spent approximately 220 dollars. I don't regret one penny of it. It along side my rc3 are my go to knive for whatever may come. Would an axe be more efficient? Yes, but for portabilty, effectiveness, edge retention, and versatility it cannot be beat outside a good machete and then I think it shines because of its edge retention and portability, and comfort of handle make it a winner with no contenders.
