The Junglas Machete

While I have no idea what the real price is, it's not too hard to guess. It's usually slightly higher than the comprable ontario offering, and less than Busse or Bark River.

Whatever they charge it'll be a deal

Yeah, but I think the Junglas is going to have a much better sheath than was with the old RTAK 2, not to mention the build quality difference.

Might be a bit more than just a bit more (wow that sounds wierd) than the old RTAK 2.

Well worth the extra bills, no doubt. I am excited about this one. Nearby wood quivers in fear.

You're right of course. Just trying to be frugal so the addiction doesn't sever the Fiance' from me. Striking a balance between women and knives isn't an easy task.
buying knife to sever a relationship sounds more than slightly psycho if you said that on accident, you know.
on the flip side - if she's really "the one", she'll buy it for you....

Just me talking, this isn't official word, but the Junglas should come in quite a bit lower than $200.

I would expect around the $175 mark.

And the sheath is freaking fantastic by the way, both the standard kydex and the available upgraded nylon version from Lost Mountain Iron Works.

Condor is a brand name of machetes, so I am pretty sure he means the edge that the condors come with

I am definately ordering one of these.

Do RAT products tend to be more expensive when they first come out, then lower in price as more hit the market? What happened when the RC-6 came out?

I have a feeling that condor will put a better than usual edge on these because they are making them for another company, especially one that puts out such high quality products like RAT cutlery. They will want to impress. Of course Condor's standard edges are very good as far as machetes go.

well kkj87a that isnt terrible in the realm of big fixed blades. figure some busse knives can go up to $2500 for the biggest ones. and even the ones comparable in size the the junglas are about 2-3 times more. so in my opinion yes it is expensive but it is a bargain among bigger fixed blades.

kkj87a I think for what it is worth that not so long ago the rtakII was the big blade to go to and at -$100 I still think it is more blade than 95% of the people on this sub forum needs. You can go back in time in this sub forum and see all kind of praise for the RTAKII. I do think the Junglas is a better blade but I don't need one just want one. I'll wait for the price to come out and weight the differences but for near $200 I'll be going with the RTAKII or something else too. For now the Izula,RC-3 and RC-6 will have to do for me.

I've got an RTAK II. love that style blade. Whatever the price on the Junglas, I'm sure it'll be fair, and I'm gonna snap one up quick. That in the nylon sheath is going to be a great day-hiking combo for small fires. (small being a relative term)

they would still profit substantially if it was the same price as an rtak. put ontario outa business : D no one will buy an rtak with rat cutlery's superior quality and warranty.
