The kinda unspecified CRK talk thread.

I've never had a CRK before, but I've been thinking about picking up a small Sebenza. I was curious if there any tips when looking on the secondary - specific things to look for, questions to ask, etc.? Any advice is appreciated.

There are plenty of fakes out there. If the price is too good to be true, skip it. If you're unsure on one, bring pictures here, there's lots of helpful folks.

Try to find one that has the box, tools, cloth, bday card. Look for one that doesn’t have the blade all scratched up, the slabs don’t matter, you can send it in and gets the slabs blasted. Try to find one that hasn’t been modded, CRK may not claim it even though it’s legit. Make sure the blade is close to factory edge angles. Where ever you buy it from, make sure you’re protected if you need to return it. Never do PayPal FF

Thanks for all the feedback - that's definitely helpful. I'll limit my search to the exchange here or buying new from an authorized dealer. And now I have a better idea of what to look for when looking at used.

I'll have to take a pic later and post it to make the full point. The box is a simple one piece folded ends with a foam insert that held the knife. It's absolutely nothing like the current modern boxes.
Ya. Those were the norm for the 21’s for the most part.
