The knife bug. HOW DO YOU STOP IT? It's really killing me.

1st is to admit you have a problem.

Second is to send all your knives to me for disposal. This will help a little but you'll still think about them though.

However, if you turn to a life of crime to support your habit, I recommend you shoplift grooming products, baby formula and laundry detergent. Good luck to you. LOL

Hey man, it sounds like you have a good collection. How are you at using and maintaining those? I'll be honest. If I were you, I would just work on using the hell outta the knives you have. Its a sunk cost. I hate to say, "you don't need any more knives right now." I'm sure your folks have pointed that out already. But c'mon, you don't need any more knives right now.

Right now I am focusing on being able to do everything I could ever want with just two knives (BK2 and Vic Fieldmaster). Lets face it, when I go out in the woods, those are the only two knives I'm gonna bother to carry. So, I better be good at doing everything with them.

A clip point Esee 6 would seal the the gap that I have in those knives :( Or a BK 7, whatever I decide when I hold them both.

If theres a gap brother its only in size, not function. You've definetely got all your bases covered as far as real world work. Theres nohting you can do with a knife in between the sizes you have that you cant already do with the larger blade. its only 2 inches of edge LESS! Still too large for fine work. Is it just the collection aspect thats makin you crazy, I get that.

If its a function gap your trying to fill its time to get an axe and a saw. Which is a whole other expensive addiction. Lol

Maybe take a look at the scandi knives like mora and such. A much cheaper alternative that still feeds the knife fix. They WORK too!

Stop the bug!? Why on earth would you want to do that?
The bug and I have a very symbiotic relationship.

I got interested in sheathmaking. Still knife related , and I was able to make some cool sheaths for some good knives that had marginal or crappy ones.

I am getting pretty picky on what I choose on knives now , and don't fall for every latest thing to come out. I agree with the lines of thought from previous posters that the important thing is to get out there and use what you have , instead of piling them all up and jonesing for the next one.

Well there is only one way to cure the sickness; you must find your ONE. Somewhere out-there is a knife that you will never be able to sell, trade, or leave at home. That is why we are all here.

But really, I used to get crazy obsessed like that too. Then I moved into higher end production/ customs. The obsession died down a little bit because you have to be patient with custom orders. Hassling the maker might get you kicked off the list.

Dont fight it, just buy a knife, some times not always, it is easier to ask for forgiveness then permission (I dont live by that rule, but in your case you might as well). Although if you buy a folder it will seem a lot more practical then a huge fixed blade, so either get a few quality but cheap knives (kewshaw blems) or cheaper BM knives found on the exchange, or get a really nice BM, spyderco, or ZT and be done with it for awhile, but you can stop the addiction. Whipped, just go with it.

I watch a couple episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race when I feel the urge to click "add to cart".

That stuff's insane. You'll find yourself forgetting about pretty much everything outside your TV screen.

Just remember... no UPS/FEDEX deliveries in debtor's prison! And... USPS packages get checked...
