If you like ebay you will love half.com. Bought a book which looked like it went through hell and was listed as near new. So far seller has reimbursed my shipping cost. They seemed surprised that I intend to ship the fing thing back to them for a full refund. It is an over-sized book and cost me just about what their refund was worth to send it.
I really enjoy having to go through the hassle of getting my credit card company involved, between the statement which must be snail-mailed to them and the required investigation, it is time consuming. Though I must admit that once an item is officially in dispute, they do not charge interest IF it is decided the card holder is correct. I just did not realize that half.com allowed dumpster divers to list books. Already gotten the obligatory "please leave us + feedback e-mail" from said dumpster diver/bookseller. Well don't hold your breath about the feedback, since if I leave it it will not be pretty. FWIW, had I bothered to read their feedback I would have seen that this over-grading of books to a significant degree is a hallmark of the seller.
Sigh, back to brick and mortar stores where at least you can decide if the item meets your expectations prior to spending the money to buy it.
