The Knife That Has Killed the Most People

This damn thing is at the top again. Man, I kind of hoped this thread would die. It's kind of embarrising to me now. But not as much as my spelling. Is there a spell check on this thing. Many times I've changed what it was I was going to say because I couldn't spell it. I'm an educated guy, sort of, Help!!!
Oh well, screw it
What I meant to kind of get a feel for in the original post, is what kind of knife a criminal stranger might use to try to rob and/or kill you. I think most of you think this:
A cheap, piece-of-crap lock back, or maybe a box cutter. After all if your lover is going to kill you, they find something. Just ask my wife. She'll have a million ideas.
I think what we also kind of gather is that James Bowie was the most influential knife designer of recent times. Remember, he killed several opponents in face-to-face-duels. His design of knife, including almost all military knives (excepting daggers) are pretty nasty things. You could even include the Buck 110 in that design.
I don't mean to sound like some adolescent gore-ball, but hey, we're just talking here.

Good Evening All-

Uath, your posts don't suggest the clinical detachment and scientific bearing of a mortician, especially one that has worked in a major, metropolitan area. Which of the Seattle mayoral administrations were in office while you were there?

You should figure most reports would list hardware along the lines of: "Knife, 6.00" x 1.00" x 0.10" blade with non-specific steel, black plastic handle, no sheath." or similar. JMHO.

Interestingly enuf, James Bowie did not invent the Bowie. His Brother did. He did carry it and make it as popular as Clint Eastwood made the .44mag.

Heck a revolver wouldn't have sone much against a unified press of folks bearing the dude to the floor.

Not to mention that a seat cushion, which "also doubles as a floatation device in case of a water landing" makes a handy shield against a boxcutter. so would a "tray back in the upright position"

Seems the sight of blood when someone slashed a throat threw most in the cabin into shock--as it was designed to by the bastids. I don't think it will work again, not on a commercial airliner in the US,,,the public is becoming galvanized to this crap.

The guys on 93 had it right, but time was too tight.

Much respect to those who gave it all 9/11, and those left behind.

Copy your post, paste it in word, do a spell check, copy a repost here...;)

Uhhh, it's not really the Clint .44 Magnum? :p

IMHO the knife that has killed the most people is and will always be
Butter knife.

You suspicous people. Why would anyone say they were a mortician if they weren't. I've been out of the business for thirteen years now and I still don't talk about it in company because of the stigma. In Seattle, as in most urban areas, several funeral holmes use a centralized morgue. Ours handled 1200+ cases a year, for four funeral holmes and there were two licensed embalmers and several helpers. I recieved my BS in funeral science from U of Central OK in 1984. Did my internship in the under part of OK city. I moved to Washington, served my two year apprenticship, and moved to Seattle in 1986. I stayed three years before transferring to Savannah GA. I'm not particularly proud of what I did. It was too much for me. To this day I still have recurring dreams about it. I have no idea who was mayor. I was working 60 hour weeks and being called out at least several times every night I was on call. I worked in White Center and lived in West Seattle. I've been out a long time. I have nothing but respect for the people that still work there.

The FBI does not have any kind of study or data, in regards to what kind of knife, let alone what brand, is used to kill the most people.

And I agree, it's an assinine question.:(

I keep wondering why so many members feel the need to say what a dumb quetion this is. If a question is "DUMB" in your opinion then why keep it alive by posting 5 pages worth of reply. Let it, and others of it's ilk, die a nice quiet death. It is generally not worth taking space or time just to insult someone.
